@gaussx @ishitak i noticed that as well however it looks like majority of those admitted from the waitlist are from out of state. also as freshmen, you would be taking a lot of general education classes which means your grade level might matter much less whereas as for transfers such as ourselves, we would be focusing more on our majoring classes. we may have a harder time since our classes will be limited as opposed to non-major focused classes. i’m just hoping they were more conservative this year with the admissions and will be relying on us waitlists to fill room. good luck to us all!

Many people are getting off the waitlist in the freshman thread…should I be hopeful or nah? I already accepted UCSD’s offer
Also I checked the freshman waitlist for last year and it looks like not many of them got in, whereas this year many got in.
Its amazing the freshmen are hearing back so soon already, do you even think we would hear back that quick? Also, would writting another essay even improve our chances of getting off, or is the waitlist just a numbers game?

@C0nNoR20 Last year not many freshman got off the waitlist either. This year many are getting off already so maybe there is hope? Who knows
after you opt in-type in info and click submit on the bottom-it takes you back to the main page. do you need to click that big submit? i might still tweak my additional essay

I think you should do what’s best for your situation. Money is important and if that’s the most important factor for you, go for it.
We haven’t been accepted to UCLA and it’s not a guarantee. Go with the choices that you currently have.
Have any/all of you already sent in your SIR to other schools yet? Or are you waiting till the end of May to see if UCLA waitlist admissions will occur quickly before June?
I already SIR’d to UCI. i have a feeling UCLA wont respond anytime soon. Better safe than sorry i guess.

Lmao I just found a grammar error in my waitlist response a minute after the deadline passed. Proofreading doesn’t work at night.
Oh god I totally forgot about adding an essay ? I should have written a few words but it’s fine I guess lolol. We’ll wait and see when decisions come out in June. And same here, I’ll be committing to UCI as well
