Ohh interesting! Usually there are a few “small” waves before some larger ones. There is also a trend of them admitting off the waitlist on Saturdays.
From last year, looks like more on Fridays and others weekdays for UCLA than Saturdays. But I guess we’ll see!
any word on appeals?
Really?? Last year I saw April 22, 29, and May 6, which were all Saturdays if I am not mistaken. Either way, if it’s going to be anytime this week, most likely today or tomorrow!![]()
What time of day would the notification come out?
I’ve seen people post in the mornings, but anytime imo
Just going by what gumbymom posted at top of this thread:
2023 Timeline: Few admits on April 21, 2023, April 28, 2023, April 29, 2023. May 6 small wave of admits including 1 OOS, In-state and International. More admits May 25, June 16, June 30. Some Denials posted July 15. Rare admit July 29.
I heard rumor that a few students got off UC Berkeley waitlist, are we close to the end?
By “close to the end” presumably you mean no more pulls from the waitlist? If so, I’m not sure that is a good assumption.
I think he means like ucla may start taking off of their waitlist soon, so for some students the wait could be over.
Obviously ![]()
I saw one person on reddit say they got in after appealing a couple days ago.
Anyone get admitted of the waitlist today?
Haven’t seen anything yet.
Maybe they will wait till May 15…
I think so too… many schools say they will NOT admit until after their commitment deadline, but they do anyway (for example, Pepperdine told my friend over the phone they absolutely wouldn’t begin even considering waitlists until after May 15, but just admitted her today). UCLA, however, I think is the rare case in which they will wait.
Also, just a general prediction… but I think this year, we will see more frequent waves of admits. Last year, there were some admits on April 21st, and then about a week later, there was another wave (the 29th). A week after that, on May 6th, there was once again another way. It seems they were about 7 days apart, which was the amount of time given to students accepted off the waitlist to enroll I believe. This year, because students are only given 3 days, I think we will see more frequent waves (maybe every 3 days or so)?
That’s a super interesting prediction. Honestly, it makes sense especially since students have less time to commit this year.
Yep, they are probably only giving 3 days this year to move through all the waitlisted students quickly and not waste anymore time after all the FAFSA delays.
SIRed USC and a UC from OOS, but the Dream School is UCLA. 4 UC’s admitted but waiting for UCLA.
