Remind me, are you in state? I think we will see a bigger wave tomorrow, since they are probably not doing the every 7 days thing.
Congrats!!! Your kid totally deserved the spot! My nephew is also CS (OOS) with 4.65gpa, still waiting
May I ask what time the email was sent? Thanks!
He checked his email at around 7:30am. I will confirm later today when he is back home.
Yeah I’m in state
Please share your state residency status, major and wgpa if you get off the waitlist, that would be very helpful to those people who is still waiting. Thanks!

The admit rate for COE was 4.9% so highly competitive and yes it does bode well that Engineering majors are being admitted off the waitlist. Since L&S houses the majority of the majors, it could be predicted there were will be a decent amount of in-state L&S admits also in the coming weeks.
There was a wave of Engineering admits last year but since waitlist admit stats are not broken out by major or college, it is hard to tell how it compares to this year. Historically, Engineering admits were not common from the waitlist.
Congratulations
Hi @Gumbymom,
Although waitlist admit stats are not broken out by college, do you have any anecdotal insights on how common waitlist admissions for these three Schools - Music, Arts/Architecture and Theater/Film/Television - were in previous years?
The total admissions in 2023 for each of these was 219, 180 and 123 respectively, and the total enrolled was 127, 129 and 75 - and many required a supplemental application. I can only surmise that these colleges are even more limited than others in the number of students they can admit off the waitlist.
Thank you very much.
Just based on the low # of applicants and # of admits for these specialized Colleges and majors, there has been very little activity posted on the social media discussions that I have seen so very hard to predict how many have been historically admitted off the waitlist.
Got it. Thank you very much.
You are so right! This year is so competitive, there are so many qualified and extraordinary candidates for admission. That even if the candidate is not accepted, they should be proud that they were competitive enough to be considered and that they are exceptional individuals.
Good luck to them always, where ever they get accepted
Have you guys seen any econ major
