Can’t say. I don’t think we’ve ever seen the waitlist unfold this way, where it was all nonresidents on day 1, and all College of Engineering on Day 2. Can’t say anything fs.

Were their GPAs higher than like 4.4 and did most of them write LOCIs to put in the box?
@Gumbymom I was just wondering if you can share your thoughts about whether or not AO’s actually fully read what is put in the additional comments box. I used up the entire character count (talking about a desired course & program, updated EC accomplishments, etc), but I included a very important paragraph about course rigor that was out of my control, which I did not mention in my initial application. I suppose my question is: Do they really read these letters carefully enough, or will they just skim through it. Thank you!
Yes, they will read what is put in the comment box or what is the point of having the option? All the rest of the UC’s no longer accept waitlist statements for the simple fact it is time consuming for admissions to read more essays and who knows if this will be an option in the future for UCLA waitlisted students.
I would however say that since the waitlist evaluation is more of an extension of the original application review, that the original evaluation would hold more weight in the decision process.

Thank you, that makes sense! I am just worried because my UC GPA is around 4.4 (partly due to the lack of course rigor in 10th grade, which I went into detail about in my LOCI), and that falls on the lower end of the 25th-75th percentile.
I really hope there is a wave of L&S in-state tomorrow morning, tired of this uncertainty and constant anxiety.

English is in Humanities division at UCLA, the WGPA of 25% of admitted was 4.36 last year. You have solid chance to get off waitlist.
Yes, And i continued to have straight A’s through the 4th Quarter at my school (4th quarter grades I said were in progess, 1-3 were all As), so hopefully that elevates my chances too.
i actually applied as pre-public health in L&S, do u have any idea the average gpa?

I think so too. Last year, the first Saturday after the SIR date was their big day, first Saturday after SIR date this year is tomorrow. Prayers tonight
