UCLA Freshman Class of 2028 Waitlist/Appeals Discussion

anyone get any updates on appeals

It seems there was a small OOS wave today, a day after the deadline for last weeks wave. We will probably get more IS admits next week, maybe Tuesday.

I just got off the waitlist for the School of Arts and Architecture! Does anyone know how to view the financial from UCLA or do we need to commit first? I’m very hesitant to commit to UCLA right now, but if it’s cheaper than my other option I’ll go. (I’m in-state)

Are you in-state for UCLA or for your other option?

For people who were admitted during regular cycle, you do not have to commit, but you do need to set up an account using a new user name and new password. From there you can access your documents.

I imagine it is the same for WL admits.

Yes, it worked out! I created a MyUCLA account with my UCLA student ID to view PAL. Thank you or your help!

Observations, not definitive conclusions, based on the last 10 days:

  1. Unlike last week’s admits, this week’s admits are no longer geographical. A handful of people - IS, OOS, INT - have been admitted off the waitlist today, strictly based on comments here today. That may continue in the coming weeks.

  2. While there doesn’t seem to be a pattern on which days of the week the waitlist admits are released, it seems the admits are happening at least once a week. So far, the admits have happened on Friday, Monday and Saturday. If I missed a day, please correct me.

  3. 5/27 or 5/26 is the deadline for those who were admitted off the waitlist on 5/20. The deadline to accept has also passed for those who were admitted off the waitlist on 5/17. That may mean there will be some admits in the days after Monday - Memorial Day, next week.

  4. The only thing pattern I could detect was a consistent time of release of 6:20 am +/- PST (UCLA time)

Again, these are observations based only on anecdotal info here and in other forums.

Yes! But one important thing I would note is that the IS admits today may have been from specific/specialized schools, like the School of Architecture and so on

I thought I read that @lindangn is L&S

Lindangn says INT admit not in state

Noted, thanks, and I edited my comment earlier to include INT.

What I was trying to convey was that all of today’s admits - regardless of whether they are IS, OOS or INT - are not confined to just a particular set of majors or colleges.

Thank you! I hope this spells good news… this wave does seem to be smaller, no question about it, but it’s nice to see they’re still admitting and not making us wait weeks between waves

My nephew is Innnnnnnn!!! He’s CS (OOS, 4.65wgpa). We had almost lost all hope and just settled days ago. Absolutely mixed emotion now, we will make decision this weekend and book well-deserved vacation trip, the tourture is unbearable…

I believe some people declined their waitlist decision offers for multuiple reasons, still empty seats left there. Everyone still has chance, miracle usually happens when you had almost lost all hope. We appreciated all encouraging comments here and mental support!

Where you go doesn’t define who you will be in the future.

Omg yay!!! :sob: So happy for you guys, I had a feeling it would happen!

And yes, I think people are declining. Last year they waited 3 weeks before the next wave, this year they are not. Hopefully this is good news for IS students too!
