UCLA Housing Out

De Neve Plaza!

anyone know why i cant select financial aid when doing the housing???

connie, did you apply for off campus or commuter for fafsa?

Totally sucks. All the options I asked for were off campus and I ended up getting a triple in a residential plaza. I didn’t even choose that option. Looks like it’s time to apartment hunt.

What I don’t understand is how people who asked for on campus got off campus and visa versa.

@suwaifo- i applied for on-campus on my fafsa and i even got the estimated award. wth is going on…

haha there goes my theory :frowning:
I can’t pick financial aid either and I also got the estimated award. What’s your due date, the 23rd?

yes the 23rd as well. so i cant even submit my housing huh? dang it, i have to wait until tomorrow to call them or something :(

Anyone willing to trade? I was offered a STUDIO/TWO PEOPLE in LANDFAIR. I’m looking for a 2/2 or a 3/3 (OFF CAMPUS). Let me know.

hahaha I think everyone else is going to call, there’s probably going to be a solution on the forum by that time. I guess the only other option close to fin aid is the quarterly one, but I’m just going to wait.

Reiber Vista
Triple, shared bath.

I checked the box that said “I prefer not to live with people who don’t drink alcohol.”
So if you live with a straight-edge-D-bag or two, come to my place, drink, pass out on the floor. I won’t draw on you.

^LOL
alcohol allowed here? (since this isn’t freshman territory)

^ yeah you can have booze if you’re 21+.

I’m ASSUMING my roommates will all have picked the “I prefer not to live with poeple who don’t drink” option. If not, the year won’t be nearly as fun.
And for all the people who say “You don’t have to drink to have fun,” I say, “true, but it sure helps.”

@connex, woo! at first, i was kind of bummed with my offer, but now i’m pretty stoked. the fact that alcohol is allowed in plazas makes me all warm and tingly inside.
we’ll rep that **** hard.
AND, you and i and germain should meet for coffee before the orientation starts.

@Bmop, to my understanding, the move-in date is about a week before classes start = we’ll be drunk for about a week straight before classes start.
i also checked ‘i prefer to live with people who DO drink alcohol’ + ‘i usually am awake at midnight’ + ‘i tolerate smoking’.
i think they stuck all of us hedonists at Rieber Terrace / Vista.

^ for sure!!! im totally stoked about everything right now haha wait until i get my bruin cardddd  :D

2 more finals for me and im DONE! ucla here i come~

@pinker, yeah I checked all the same options. Reiber Terrace is just a short stumble away from Reiber Vista.

Unfortunately, we don’t have a week to fry brain cells. We move in Sunday, classes start on Monday.

http://www.registrar.ucla.edu/calendar/acadcal09.htm

Move in date is Sept 20, classes begin sept 21. I think they know what would happen if we had a week to do nothing.

Sunset Village, triple, shared bath.

Hmm, I wonder when we get to see roommates and which building we’ll be put in.

Rieber VIsta, triple, shared bath.

Yay for Rieber Vista?
As a girl, this is a bit scary to share a room with 2 other girls…

First week is pretty slow anyway, so not much is going on. I dont see any point getting drunk through it, meet people sober it will be alot better and then you can party with them later.

I believe the quarter starts the 21st officially, but classes start the 24th.

^yeah you’re right, I didn’t see that part “Instruction begins Thursday, September 24”
sweet.
