UCLA Housing Thread

SMC? hahaha

nope, although i always hear that about SMC too.

De Anza was “supposedly” the top cc in the nation a few years back or something, but I could never see how that was. We broke as “phuc”.

going to the best community college is worthless they are all in the same **** hole category it is like saying you best behaved inmate on death row or your the smartest mentally disabled person

Well I wouldn’t say it’s worthless. It’s a good stepping stone to go someone that ISNT a sh**hole (a UC, basically). And yes, here at De Anza we are completely broke now.

im saying they are all the same no need to “rank” in their mind they are all the “best” but it is such a stupid think to rank them at all because they are all tools used by smarter students to save money/ get into a school they couldnt afford out of high school or couldnt get into because of slacking or something

anyways Im going to sleep good night CC

For the San Diego Community College District [City/Mesa/Miramar] this is our last week! 2 finals today, two tomorrow, and then freedom!

this is still the HOUSING thread, you guys :)

Ah… yes… housing. I wish to live in the plazas.

I have my final (Mesa) in less than an hour. Can’t wait until Idon’thavetodrivesofarandwastegas.

Has anyone like, applied yet? For housing?

The $30 application thing? Yeah, me. I did it awhile ago, after my friend told me he would be going to Cal and not UCLA, so that I didn’t know anybody I particularly would want to live with. So I figured “Meh, might as well send in the application now.” And I did. I hope I don’t get matched up with a creeper.

may have found the answer to my prayers…dad got me a room at his old fraternity (double) for $600/mo including food and parking!!! woot, son!

Is it true that you aren’t allowed to cook if you live in one of the campus dorms/apts?

Well, there are no kitchens, so I guess there’s no way you’d be able to cook… Unless you brought your own portable stove or something. Maybe an Easy Bake Oven? Hehehe.

Awe- easy bake! ha ha. I applied for housing already. I wonder when we get our assignments!

have not received housing assignment, summer parking permit, or bruincard. Not to mention, ucla has yet to receive my transcript.

aiyah

Aiyah –> The grandpa from Jackie Chan Adventures!!! I loved that show! If not, don’t mind me…

@Evan - Looking at last year’s thread, pretty early in June! I don’t know if we’re assigned roommates that early though? But we’re told where/how we’ll be living…

Oh, btw, how is the housing application? Whadiyaguys put down for preferences?

@edelynly I know there are no kitchens, which is why I wanted to buy one of those tiny stoves. I remember when I went to UCSB they restricted any microwaves or any cooking utensils. I didnt know if it was the same for UCLA.

I am both anxious and eagerly awaiting June 3rd. And June 1st, so I can register for orientation, but mostly June 3rd.

Yeah, no standalone microwaves. You can rent (or bring your own, but they’re expensive) a ‘microfridge.’ It’s a microwave and fridge in one! Can’t get any better than that…

@MrOblivious - Me too. What if I don’t get into the first orientation! What if I don’t get the room I want (which seems highly possible looking at last year’s thread…)!!! :(
