i haven’t applied for housing because i am not sure that i’d be able to afford it. however, the fact that it says if i decline it i will not have any guarantees for next year… should i apply even though i’m 90% sure I wont be able to afford it? Or is that a waste of $30

@ciaokarol, I think you should! Maybe put down apartments as your number one choice? It is, after all, cheaper than if you were to live in your own apartment. Better safe than sorry.

well i was thinking off campus apartments that aren’t through UCLA. I was also looking into co-op last night (I cannot believe how CHEAP it is!) So yeah, there’s other options.

Another thing, I want to live with my friend who’s been going there for two years now, but she lived in an off campus apartment this year, and didn’t apply for housing so would that be totally impossible? She said she can get on the wait list but that’s not a guarantee…soooo…yeah idk i’m confused as to waht to do.

well ya you don’t have to live on campus… I just want to because it is close, furnished and seems like the least hassle… but if you know someone then maybe you two can rent a room & split the cost… but if you are thinking of the co-op I’d get on the waiting list for that asap. my friend got on berkeley’s waiting list on may 5 and that may have been too late… good luck!

wow really? i’m kind of hesitant about the co-op though. I can’t find any substantial information online and I don’t like that I don’t know what it’s really like… ahh. if i had the money to do it, i’d definitely live on campus though.

It’s lottery parking… ewww whatever that means… lol

ciao did you read those two reviews on yelp? The reviews weren’t bad… The person said that she recommends the experience but you have to keep an open mind. :P)

yeah i did. one of them said she went there in 1998. and the other, i believe mentioned something about one of the tenants getting shot in a nearby park. so far, not looking good
=l.

possibly looking for a roommate to share a double at one of the quieter fraternities near landfair/ophir. already have dibs on my room, it’s a double with private bath. $575/mo, another $25 for a guaranteed parking spot. i’m pretty neat and i consider myself easy going. i have a couple friends interested if they don’t get their on-campus choice, but i thought i’d throw it out there.

go ahead and send me a PM if you’re serious and i can give you a little more info…i don’t want anyone running in and dropping a deposit to steal my room haha

Thanks. I saw in one of the links we could submit it before we attend. I have another question though, I still can’t sign up for orientation because it says I have to complete my education planner. I searched for the link, it led me to my.ucla, but then it said Survey 3.0 not found. Is this because I only sent in my SIR yesterday?
