UCLA Housing Thread

hahah. just bring your personal belongings and hit up the local ikea.

The ‘local’ Ikea is forty minutes away. With traffic make that two hours haha.

oh shoot. i forgot that there’s only one in burbank and carson…

housing + parking = stress

oh, the one in carson isn’t so far away…I’ll drive any of you down and pick up whatever you need in my truck for a $20 spot and gas! also, I plan on bringing a whole bunch of **** INCLUDING a mini fridge and microwave. maybe not the first week, but it will be there. if I can’t choose my living quarters or bring my car, you bet your *** I’m bringing what I want!

I’ll probably end up taking you up on that offer.

I’m dead serious about it too. applies to everyone! I’ve got mouths to feed…mine!

won’t your RA find your mini-fridge and microwave? =o

^
all I know is that 3 of my friends in rieber have them and it’s almost year-end…so this is gonna happen

Some RA’s are really cool about it. My friend told me about how his RA would turn a blind eye and actually tell them before dorm checks so that they had time to hide their “questionables.” I hope my RA is like that.

whats the rules on drinking and such, what happens if you get caught with possession of alcohol or maybe some bud, what if you are wasted out of your mind belligerent. Any info on stuff like that, punishments and such

Ugh seriouslyyy. I hope my RA is chill. I think they have microwaves in the lobby (for everyone on that floor or section to share?) but def no mini-fridges. I need one. I can’t go a week just eating American fatty dorm foods.

no mini fridges–seriously? i’ve been in SEVERAL ucla dorms and visited a friend’s room in the plaza–there are DEFINITELY mini fridges and microwaves. am i getting confused with something?

I read it somewhere… Maybe it’s just halls? Not too sure. They don’t typically allow it, but of course kids bring 'em. Depends on your RA, too, like someone else mentioned. Crossing my fingers.

since i really don’t want to study for my stats exam tomorrow

woah microfridge

Damn, we can’t bring waterbeds…?!!

Yay for ‘microfridges’ ahahah. I wonder how much they are per year. If it’s pricey, maybe it’s a better investment to buy and bring my own?

Microfridge! FTW!

I will also bring a waterbed now.

Wait… I can’t bring my gas stove and all my flammable materials to my dorm room?

Sorry, UCLA… that’s a deal breaker.
