Do we have to pay anything for orientation? And if so, where do we do it?

150 i think they put it in your fees

Is it true that you’re only allowed to enroll in 3 classes for this upcoming fall? My friend told me, he’s a psych major if that matters, that they only let him enroll in 3 classes…?

^ You can go home after and add more through URSA.

ooh good one. they wont object to that?

They only let you add 3 because they want you to ease into the quarter system…but they can’t really do much once you go home.

I ended up dropping one of the classes and adding a different one the week after orientation.

oic. thanks for the info!

anyone know any easy upper divs?

Hey guys, I just got my DPR. In the middle of the list of my classes, they inserted the statement “Maximum Credit Allowed.” The problem is, I’m not sure if this means they only counted the units for the courses above that statement or below it. Does anyone who had their DPR explained at orientation know?

How is the security at the orientation? Do they check everyone’s ID before they come in?

^No. You line up in front of Royce Hall according to your last name, and you show the organizers your BruinCard so they can verify who you are. They will then give you everything you need for the day

so my session is next monday, where can i find the list of things to bring to orientation? or does anyone know who has already went?

[UCLA Summer Orientation Program](http://www.orientation.ucla.edu/transferstudents.htm)

So I don’t really know what classes I’ll need…should I really have them mapped out ahead of time or will I be ok if I haven’t?

Also, it says that check in starts at 7:30 am. Are we ok if we get there late? I’m planning to leave by 5 am but I don’t know how bad the traffic will be…

have them mapped out a head of time, it will save you a lot of time so you can go to workshops like financial aid, honors program, etc, instead of going to a computer lab to look for classes because after like 1:00, you’re going to be on your own until 8:00.

Errrr. It would help a lot if they had my degree progress report done on URSA. Hard for me to know which classes to take right now because I don’t know which ones are transferring cleanly (I’m transferring from a 4 year school)

^Map at your upper division major courses first, then the ones you think you may be hesistant on which one will transfer or not. Like Andrizzle said, around 2-8 your on your own- so if you don’t want to be stuck in a computer room with 40 other students viewing different classes, then you can attend workshops, tour the campus, or eat dinner.

okey doke. Do we get to meet up with a counselor from our major to help us with the schedules?

so do you guys recommend bringing a laptop?
yes - to sign up for classes?
no - its not safe to carry it around?

so they don’t make us play lame name games and crap during orientation right?
