UCLA Regents Scholarship Notification

when was the deadline to turn in the regents scholarship application?

The deadline is today.

ah…do you submit it online or something? I can’t find any info on the stupid website :frowning: and do you have to have FAFSA to be eligible?

^Are you serious dude?

^ yes i was serious. I didn’t know that asking genuine questions on this forum gets you mocked. I found out that international students weren’t eligible anyways, so nvm.

^ He didn’t mean it disrespectfully. At any rate, you would have to be invited for the Regents if you were eligible.

(This was my last admissions essay. I’m elated it’s over…)

^^Mazel tov! I really enjoyed writing this topic and was saddened that I need to cut my essay down to 300 words. lol.

Waiting for the results to come out is nerve racking. It sucks knowing that they probably won’t come out until April 20th. What did you guys decide to write about? I wrote about how I wanted to work for the CIA.

I wrote about helping small businesses

I wrote about wanting to be an English teacher. :)

I wrote about saving the world :)

My essay revolved around…

“When I grow up, I wanna be a motha****in hustla…you betta ask somebody”

Come at me bros

So I’m about to throw a wrench in everyones’ assumptions as to the minimum requirements for Regents Scholarship invitation. My stats:

Major: Philosophy (I plan on double majoring in Math/Econ, I just need to finish the math requirements)
Overall GPA: 3.87

I was invited to apply for the Regents. I have no idea why. Perhaps it is because of my high school record (Class of 2007, bottom 10% of my class, 1.2 GPA), job experience (youngest manager in history of Barnes and Noble), and non-competitive major. I don’t kid myself though, I know I won’t get it. My essay was pretty cookie-cutter “I want to lead an accomplished life.” But damn those perks that come with the scholarship would be nice.

@transferca
LOL nice. On my post, you said you had a 3.94. We can’t believe anything you say! Haha.

haha thats some funny *****. I wonder if we don’t make the cut for the regents scholarship if it will say so on our acceptance letter. Will we just have to assume we didn’t get it if its nowhere to be found on the letter or financial aid report?

Did anyone get it?

I’m sure someone will get it.

I dont see anything in my financial aid report so I’m assuming that I didn’t get unless the provisional FA Report doesn’t have it yet. I sent an email to A Ramirez to see if decisions have been sent out.

@loui86dz let us know what she says please! I still can’t see my fin. aid :/

Frakk I e-mailed her too lol. I should have just waited. She’s going to be inundated with e-mails and probably ****ed.

Ms. Ramirez if you are reading this SO SORRY!
