I was recently accepted into UCLA for design | media arts major and CMU under their school of art. I want to pursue UI/UX design in the future, which school would be a better choice? I’m thinking of possibly transferring from the school of art to school of design if I end up in CMU. I looooove So-Cal yet it stood out to me that CMU might be a better choice for UI/UX, and more opportunities?
@flamingopink if this screen name is your real name, I would urge you to change it asap. Here is how.
Can you actually switch into design at CMU? The capacity of that program has a firm limit. If you can switch, then it could be a great way into UI/UX, since CMU’s strength in tech permeates so many of its programs including design. But definitely find out whether you can really do this.
yes! ive asked several friends of mine who goes to cmu and they all said internal transfer to school of design from art shouldn’t be a big problem given decent grades and portfolio
