@luciddream20 Their portal has been going haywire…it’s overloaded from all the people who are logging on at once. They just shut it down again until around 4:07 I think, but you should be able to login by then!

@pilgrim We’re also waiting. Based on last year’s thread, the CCS email arrived the day after the admission decision.

Is anyone else getting pushed back till 4:07?! What does this mean?! Did acceptances come out first then waitlist and denials?! I’m loosing my mind from this whole process someone save me.
Hey I just wanted to send a little message on here for people who got either waitlisted or rejected from UCSB today. And for the people that got accepted, congratulations! I am currently a freshman at UCSB in the class of 2023 and was in your same position last year. I actually got rejected originally but submitted an appeal with updated information about me and my accomplishments since i submitted my application at the beginning of my senior year. I was also able to submit two letters of rec with the appeal. I ended up receiving my acceptance on May 7, 2019 after already committing to slo but UCSB was my top school so I withdrew and became a GUACHO!
My stats:
GPA: 4.19
ACT: 31
Took about 6 APs
Committed and strong extracurriculars
Relatively good essays
I think my recommendation letters made a difference because I got it from teachers that I had had for a long time and a good relationship with. One was also my coach for softball so he got to write about that side of me as a person as well.

Hope this helps anyone feeling down about the decisions today! But know you will end up wherever you are supposed to be whether that is UCSB or somewhere else!

Hello! I was admitted to UCSB and I am curious about my admitted major. It says that I am admitted to “Pre-Biology”, does this include Aquatic Biology (what I applied for) or does that mean I wasn’t admitted to that major?

All Biological science majors are admitted as “Pre-Biology”. You then will take pre-req courses and have pass all requirements before declaring your Aquatic Biology Major.
