Ucsb decision

The only classes I am taking this semester are 2 GE classes, in order to complete my IGETC by the end of this semester

The counselor did not seem to optimistic. She told me to start considering my other offers. The unfortunate part is that I am completely qualified for both UCSB and UCLA. I am happy that I have not been denied yet, but she said it wasn’t looking too good. However, she put a note in my file that says that I currently am doing well in all my courses and on my way towards another 4.0 semester. I had a rough start a the begining of my college career due to personal family issues. However, I have significantly improved my gpa and recieved a 4.0 in 19 units last semester. I have a 3.54 and am a Philosophy major. I’m on track to having a 3.64 when I transfer. That is, if I get in anywhere.

Did you try calling them? They are extremeley helpful and may be able to shed some light on your situation.

I called them twice, they gave me the same responses, “be patient”. Your decision will be out by the end of April.

So annoying

I disagree with your opinion, they are not helpful at all, they seems to be very impatient, like me. They disturbed me when I was saying my request.

Well they were extremely polite and helpful with me, although they may have been a little more sympathetic.

what did they do for you???

Gawd I hope that’s not completely the case, catfoodjar. I know that’s what they told you, but now I’m scurrrred! Stats 1 is my only math pre-req that I need (taking this semester) but it’s not the only math class I’ve taken- I got an A in the pre-req to Stats, so I’m hoping that will be sufficient for establishing my math history, if that’s what they are looking for.

I’m in the same boat as you, only applied to UCSB, UCLA, and UCB. Poli Sci- 3.87. Stupid anxiety.

If the prereq to your stats class fulfills your math requirement for IGETC, you should be fine.

It doesn’t- Stats 1 fulfills it. Oh well- what will be done will be done. I said if I didn’t get accepted anywhere, then I would refocus my efforts, and I need to walk that walk if that’s indeed what happens. Good luck all!

This may be late/already posted, BUT…
I talked to an acdom at UCSB for about 20 minutes, and couldn’t shut up (me). lol
She said (summary)-“we still have yet to evaluate in excess of 3000 applications, so just be patient.” (yeah i saw that posted a few times haha! They must have a script :P)
She also said, “The posting of decisions is 100% random. It just depends which “number” you are” (didn’t quite get that part lol). Decisions are posted EVERYDAY! So keep checking cherrubs!! (don’t ask)

Well at least now you know why you haven’t recieved a decision as of yet. The good part is that you haven’t been denied. Which means you are probably in the same situation that I am in. They will come back to you at the end and if there is room you will get admitted. The counselor said people like us wont find out until late april.

The admission office will be posted all the decisions in a daily basis during midnights.

Hey guys, i finally realized that they evaluate applicaitions in perm numbers order!!!

How did you come to that conclusion? anddd what is the starting perm number ?

That means, if you turned in your applicaition last November at the very beginning, like early NOV., you will be notified earlier for the decision, if you turned on the late NOV. you will be notified later on April.

Could those people who got in confirm this? Just give us your date you turned in your application and the first five digits of your perm, remember to block the last two digits for security purposes.

My perm is 47150X-X. I submitted on NOV. 17th, and they received it on NOV. 20th.

I just called some of my friends for those who got in, their perm numbers are smaller than mine! Which means, they are all in front of my application.

I recieved mine on the 19th of november and mine is 64034XX. I don’t think your theory pans out.

It’s probably not by perm #. Mine is 464XXX submitted on Nov 5 and haven’t heard.
