@UCSDaaa what is your applied major?
i withdrew from a course this semester and UCSB was ok with it since the class I dropped had nothing to do with my major and I was still able to meet the 60 unit requirement - the admissions department even told me “We’ll see you in the fall” after I spoke to them and reported the necessary changes
Also, you do need to take a math class. I’ve taken both Calculus and Statistics. Have you taken stats at least?
@UCSDaaa i noticed you got in as an Econ major
Withdrawing from Calculus will most likely cause UCSB to revoke your admission. They explcitily state calculus (I and II) is a requirement for admission as an Econ major
@BlackPlasma sadly! @UCSDaaa the portal gives you an option to change your major. If I were in your position, I would try to change my major Monday when they’re open and if UCSB allows you to change your major to something that doesn’t require calculus, then do that! but you would still need to take a math course, so I hope you have that requirement fulfilled already
@UCSDaaa that’s what i meant lol! Maybe first speak to UCSB admissions and ask if that’s an acceptable option, and if you can, then definitely drop that course asap
Best of luck! I hope all goes well
Just got my financial aid package! They’re offering 21k in grants. I’m surprised I got my package so quickly- I added UCSB’s school code to my FAFSA about a week ago (the FAFSA itself was filed on time, before 3/2).
I just wanted to pop in and say I got accepted for econ/accounting and I’m considering going there I only read back a couple pages so I hope I’m not being repetitive. Is anyone who’s planning on attending UCSB not a big partier? My only apprehension about SB is the party scene… I’m not strictly against it or anything, it’s just not my choice of how to spend my free time. I’ve heard that the whole party school stigma is so overplayed, but I’ve also heard some transfers had a really rough time.
Anyway, I’m really ready for them to open up the FB page. Does UCSB do it, or does a student just start it?
Also, hate to double post, but about financial aid packages… is there any way to check the status of that online? I got accepted close to the first day I believe (I honestly forgot to check the portal lol) and haven’t received a package yet.
Just got my unofficial award letter. $0 in grants lol I love how they expect my parents to pay for all of it, when in reality they are in no shape to do so. lol. Oh well, I figured I would need loans anyways.
