@Mike2011 I got mine this morning, way more aid than even UCR! About to submit my SIR right now I’m so pumped! Gonna go look at apartments there Saturday on the transfer day since I’m thinking of taking my Econ 10A Over summer. Anyone else from the OC area gonna be there?
@hannahrenae Both acceptance and Financial aid was portal only, I haven’t gotten an email from them in months.
I was thinking of taking econ 10a during summer as well. 
Do you think the level of difficulty is higher during summer since the sessions are shorter as apposed to the regular ten weeks

I think I got rejected because I’m missing three prereqs.I’m thinking of appealing though. How would I go about arguing about prereqs? I have done nearly all of the additional courses if that helps.
This really hit hard because, although ucsb wasn’t my first choice, I really did like the school and the atmosphere and was seriously considering it.
@tw8734 can you take any of the pre reqs over the summer that might help your appeal.
@futureeechick Well i can take statics at a community college that isn’t too far away from me. Ive looked around and the other two classes aren’t offered at any community college remotely close.
@tw8734 the only reason I got in was because I took the programming class. I attend a CC in way way Northern California. I took the class online at Santa Monica college. That’s what many people have to do. I wish they would tell more students about this. It’s a very convenient way to get the class.
Your GPA is solid, UCSB is just extremely finicky about pre-reqs because they’re engineering is a small school. I’m confident you’ll get into other schools you applied to!
@nothingpersnal transfer day is this Saturday?!?!? I’m from the OC and planning to take Summer classes. Do they provide financial aid for summer classes? I heard you could take the classes at your local UC but I think going to your actual school is a lot better.
I got in as a Psych major 3.8 + TAG, I’m currently finishing up the pre reqs calc 1 and research psych. Does anyone have any clue if transfers could dorm if they take summer classes? I’m still waiting on UCLA so I haven’t really looked into it. These spring classes are a killer!!
These spring classes are a drag right now. I am also seriously considering attending UCSB during the summer. I read that you need to be taking at least 6 units to receive full financial aid during the summer. UCSB needs to be on your 2015-2016 FAFSA as well.
So if you dropped a class such as communications, which UC’s( it’s not mandatory), I would be fine? I have a valid excuse anyways. It also doesn’t pertain to my major. I would be fine right? Also, how do you let ucsb know that you’ve dropped a class?

@heykimm I was admitted on the 28th as a Pre-Communications major with TAG. I’m afraid I can’t chance you accurately because I don’t have much knowledge on the admissions process of UCSB but I think as long as you meet the requirements for TAG, you should stand a pretty good chance.
Can someone chance me? I can’t handle the waiting.

Prereqs: I actually originally applied as a psych major but talked to an admissions counselor there and she said my chances wouldn’t change if I switched to English cause my CC doesn’t have many of the required courses, and English doesn’t require the Prereqs other majors do.
I hate this, I just want to know already!

hmm, transfer days are usually not until sometime in May. The open house that is happening on the 9th is a campus-wide event meaning that anyone (admitted and prospective students) can attend.
This waiting game is ridiculous
