UCSB Fall 2016 Transfer Thread

@thefuture2 I am…not sure if that’s good or bad

Another day of no answers…this is getting so frustrating

@busiibeee it is a uc requirement that you have completed at least 60 transferable units. contact your admissions officer.

I just got accepted 2 days ago!!

I applied as an ECON major, and my second choice was political science. I am graduating a CC from the SF area with an Associates in Business Admin, and I also have a year’s worth of credit for International Studies.

I was accepted as a pre-political science, and I’m guessing I was rejected for Economics. I have strong business grades and weak math/econ grades, so this makes sense!

3.5-3.6 GPA
90 Transferable semester credits
All Gen Eds completed
All core/support classes completed
Work full-time 40 hrs+ a
ACCEPTED for poli sci!!!

Rejected by: SDSU, Cal Poly
Accepted: UCSB

Still can’t believe I got in, good luck to everyone else, it’s totally possible!!! It seems that Econ is extremely impacted this year…

Everyone, don’t get frustrated if you haven’t heard back yet. I called them a couple days ago and they said that they are only about halfway done with evaluating applications.

The rolling admissions of UCSB is both a blessing and a curse

@nepusr : I am still waiting. Hopefully, it’s a good news.

I was accepted, I checked like 6:30 and nothing just checked right not at 9:45 and I got in.
I put Pre-econ as my main, but I got into Linguistics.

Im pretty excited, because after reading this forum, I started to wonder if I was UC material, plus I was missing some PreReqs for Econ

I’m very confused as the admissions office is only open till 4 pm and people are getting decisions late at night? How does that work?
Sorry I’m a first gen college student and this is the only place I can get answers.

It is computer generated responses.

So they can accept you during the day and then it will upload later?

I dont have any idea why. Maybe it takes awhile for the system to update everything.

I got accepted into Pre-Political Science! Also applied second choice to Global Studies.
I’ve taken all of the Political Science classes available in LACCD and I’m taking Econ 1& 2 this summer, so I only have to take Intro to Political Research to declare the major. Hopefully Spring 2017.
Minoring in Anthropology. I’ve completed two classes in it.

GPA: 3.4 (not the strongest)
Earning my A.A. in Poli Sci and my IGETC certification this semester.
EC: Full time jobs since I was eighteen. Volunteering for political campaigns and for UNICEF. Clubs. I knew because I was a A/B student I needed tons of EC.
PS: I loved it. I got talked about all of those goals.

Applied: Emerson, Occidental, UCSB, UCSD, UCD, UCLA
So far only heard back from UCSB but it would be between UCSD and UCSB.

I got accepted to Pre-Econ and Accounting last night!

still waiting for LA, Berk, Irvine and USC, but I’m beyond relieved that I got in somewhere!

Admitted 3.7 History major

Time to reflect back on my life, I grew up in the Sam Levy public housing project in Nashville, TN.

I am. So nervous now. Some of my MAE major friends got rejected with 3.9 GPA

So I don’t know if this is bad, I have all of my IGETC except for math(it’s in progress) but I am an English major. Does the fact that I didn’t do my math before the spring really reduce my chances of getting admitted?
