I was admitted this week and am having trouble accessing the facebook group app. Anyone else having the same problem?
I used my original email and the new @umail.ucsb.edu
Denied.
I found out yesterday. This came after many hours of researching the school and dreaming of going there. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? I really want to attend UCSB. It was my first choice and my ticket out of Idaho ;). Does anyone know of anything I could do, if there is anything?
@edawnc20 academic counselors at my CC have told me that they have helped a lot of students successfully get into UCSB on appeal. UCSB only saves a certain amount of spaces for students to be admitted on appeal and they are done on a first come first serve basis, so if you are interested I would complete that as soon as possible!

@UCMtoUCSBHopeful I guess you have to wait a few days after you SIR to do the housing app. I just did my SIR and was like, “Hell yeah let’s do housing!” and it was like, “Nah, bruh. You gotta wait.”

I submitted my SIR last week, I think you also have to do the SLR as well. Im thinking about sighning up for San Joaquin as it will be open this Fall and its right next to Santa Catalina and will have a shared field and pool for both, and a volleyball court in the middle. Hoping it will be more social so I can meet a few people lol.

there is no waitlist for UCSB lol.
@BlackPlasma I did the SLR. When I went to go do the housing it still said I was an applicant rather than a student so it wouldn’t let me do anything lol

Here is what I put on the housing app.
PREFERENCE 1: 3 bedroom/6 person apartment
PREFERENCE 2: 2 bedroom/4 or 5 person apartment (double or triple occupancy room)
PREFERENCE 3: Any Residence Hall
I think preference 1 is the new San Joaquin apartments next to the Santa Catalina res hall and 2nd preference is either Santa Ynez or Sierra Madre. I put preference 3 in case I luck out and they offer a Dorm lol.

If anyone’s considering living in IV next fall over student housing, I’m looking for a girl room mate ASAP to live with me in a large double room in a 2 bed/ 2 bath apt with 2 other super chill ucsb students. Rent is $790 w/ utilities, message me if interested! Just thought I would throw it out there, it would be cool to room with another transfer next year.

Cool! You really are determined to get a single lol. Well I still want to get shared rooms to at least have that experience since I missed out on dorming lol. I might like or hate it depending whos my roommate lol but hey at least I would be able to learn from it. I might change my preferences though as I think 6 people in 1 apartment is too much. Its going to be hard to adjust to a twin xl after spending my whole life on a queen bed lol. Im 21 so I don’t think im too ‘old’ lol
