Are many of your decisions still pending? I’m beginning to worry a bit, I get the sense that fewer and fewer acceptances are rolling out each day.
Admitted!
Pre-Economics
3.8
1 Pre-Requisites left (IP)
IGETC: Finish by end of Spring 2017
Time Admitted: Sometime between 4-7:30pm Today
I was originally at a CSU for my 1st year of college and didn’t like it. I finished 2 semesters at my CSU and went back to CC fall 2016 semester. I applied to UC’s with 24 CSU units and 17 CC units under my belt. At the moment I have 22 units in progress and I still shocked I got in. Just wanted to let anyone who’s in the same boat or in a similar situation know that something like this is possible! Don’t give up!
Admitted!

Alright, backstory. I grew up in Huntington Beach, but I move around a lot. I ended up in New Jersey. I could not stand my high school so I became a home schooled student. My local community college offered me the chance to graduate two years early and start as a full-time student at 16. Now, I’m 18 and accepted to my dream school! Since I’m not from the state right now and I am a non-traditionally aged transfer student, I am a little worried about meeting friends and finding roommates, but I’m sure I’ll find my niche.
Admitted sometime today!
Mechanical Engineering
3.9 GPA
IGETC completed, missing several major prereqs so I have no idea how I got in,
@Tpw417 if you have no idea how you got in, you should decline the offer for other people who actually do
Accepted today at some time, but I didn’t get an email… Check your portals! Congrats to everyone who got in!
Stats:
Transfer from a CCC
GPA: 3.93 GPA
Major GPA: 4.0
Major: Philosophy (applied) and political science double major for pre-law
IGETC: Complete
Major Pre-Reqs: Complete. I also took additional classes that other UCs and privates suggested
Bad stuff: Two Ws in the same semester, but that’s it. I took full course loads every other semester. I explained my circumstances in the additional comments section. I did not retake the courses because they applied neither to IGETC nor my major pre-reqs.
Extracurriculars: Exec VP of the ASB, honors program, started a financial literacy program at my school, debate team, political science and philosophy clubs, disabled youth mentor, created a prosthesis for stringed instruments. I did other stuff too, but UCSB doesn’t read our personal statements sooooooo…it’s mostly (if not entirely) stats based.
Applied: UCSC, UCD, UCSB, UCSD, UCLA, UCB, U-Mich, USC, Georgetown, Cornell, Brown, Columbia, Stanford
Accepted: UCD (TAP), UCSB, UCSD, U-Mich
Waiting: UCSC, UCLA, UCB, USC, Gtown, Cornell, Brown, Columbia, Stanford
Good luck to everyone throughout these next two months! Exciting but anxiety-laden times!
@JustgotintoUCSB I should decline my offer for other people who know how they got in? That doesn’t even make sense
@JustgotintoUCSB - @Tpw417 has really awesome stats (3.9). Sometimes missing pre-reqs can make up for that
@JustgotintoUCSB dude chill
Hi is any other people that are trasfer student applying for pre-communications major still pending for ucsb?
which prerequisites were you missing for mechanical engineer?
@jaleshaiker I’m missing circuits and dynamics.
@Tpw417 oh that’s not too bad then, when you said several I thought like 4+ classes.
Got admitted sometime today ^^
Stats:
Foothill College
Major: Admitted as Pre-Biology (applied as Microbiology)
GPA: 3.41 (after TAU), 3.52 (before TAU)
IGETC: Complete
Major Pre-reqs: Will complete most by Summer (OChem), finish Biology by Spring; will take Physics at UC
TAG: UCI (not sure if it was approved)
Admitted: UCSB, CSULB
Denied: SDSU
Pending: UCI, UCLA, UCSD, UCD
I have a question: If I failed a non-required math last quarter, but retake it this coming spring quarter, will they rescind me and if I don’t retake it, will they also rescind me?
Did anyone else get an email about a Transfers dinner at UCSB?
Has anyone been rejected thus far?
Was rejected today for computer science
GPA: 3.78 to 3.8, Major GPA: 3.85-3.88, idk for sure
Prereqs all completed, IGETC: no, not from a CCC.
I’m not sure why I was rejected, is it because I am a UC to UC transfer and I applied during the extension (After Nov 30)? I’m confident that I have all my prereqs completed. Does anyone know why I was rejected, I thought UCSB admissions was only stats based and I thought my GPA was good.
