@Lesbehonest from me, I met with a counselor today and that’s what he told me. He also said that everything is done completely random. If you filed for TAG that gives you no priority in terms of hearing back early. If you haven’t heard back yet, that’s not a bad thing at all, they just haven’t gotten to you yet. I was also told that UCSB does NOT even read the personal response questions that we had to do. It’s completely decided based off of academics. If you have any more questions feel free to ask because I was given a ton of info from him today.
oh you mean Honors to Honors which is essentially TAP just renamed
@chocstraw were your non-A’s in GE’s? If they were and you only have one B in a pre-req then it shouldn’t hurt that much
ALSO, many of us have seen the financial aid page that says to check back March 22 to find out how much we will recieve. You will only find out on that day if you got your decision yesterday, March 20. You will have to check your financial aid status 2 DAYS AFTER receiving your admission decision to find out how much money they will give you.
@abcln123 you have a great chance at getting into all of your schools that you applied to because your gpa in the 75 percent tile. What is your alternative major for Ucla? Ps. Anthro major as well, best of luck!
@choukevin ehhh I’m not too concerned. I did the whole transfer process last year, it was filled with anxiety and stress. I’m resigned at this point. UCSB is a close second for me, I’m really done stressing. I’m just killing time and getting Bs in my classes until transfer.
@chocstraw don’t blame you, it must have been mentally taxing to go through the appeals process and have to wait even longer. Best of luck to you and hopefully we both get in!
@HannaBrooks2 I applied to SB, UCI, UCR and UCD
has anyone done the cal grant transfer entitlement certification? I have 10 days left to do mine but you have to confirm that you will be transferring to a four year by listing which school you will be attending but I haven’t heard back from any schools yet. any ideas what I should do?
@TaylorD6 do you think u could just post the whole email on here and just block any personal information that’s on the email? It would help alot of people haha.
It wasn’t an email, I met with him face to face
i’m meeting with my scholar’s counselor tomorrow so lmk if you guys want some specific questions answered! I’ll try to ask them if there’s time.
About the 70% of applicants being notified. To put it into perspective, UCSB received 109,803 applications for freshmen and transfers total. 92,017 of them are freshmen, meaning that we make up 17,786 of those applicants. So the 70% is about 76k applicants that were notified of decisions. If from what I’ve heard is correct, that most freshmen were notified, this is leaving about well over 33k applications left to process. So I wouldn’t lose hope guys, just hang in there
Yeah, I don’t believe that 70% transfer applicants received their decisions on the 20th…
I heard that 70 percent of transfer DIDN’T hear back by the 20th…

For those that were admitted on Tuesday, financial aid is up
Is financial aid up for anyone who hasn’t been admitted yet ?
@franklin9 Do you see anything under your financial aid status? All I have on that page is a big green check mark and “Your 2018-2019 FAFSA was received by the Federal Processor on 2/17/2018.”
@kateee Yep! Right under that (for me), there’s a blue button that says “view unofficial financial aid award letter” which takes me to a page with my grants/scholarships/etc.
