Major: Pre-Financial Mathematics and Statistics
GPA: 4.0
Pre-Reqs: This major does not require any course, but lots recommended courses. And I only fit two category of them, Calculus (1, 2) and Economy (micro, macro).
Area: Seattle, WA. (Not in the CA transfer system)
Essays: 5/10. In my opinion, my essay is really bad. I wrote it and found a transfer adviser to correct my grammar (I am an international student) for half hour just one day before the deadline. Then I submitted it. That was all. I did not even ask a third person to review my ideas of essay. As a result, the quality of my essay is even lower than normal standard I think.
Finally got it. Thank you guys for staying with me and sharing so much useful information. Somehow, checking this thread has already been one part of my life. lol

but don’t let it get to you so much! Honestly, I don’t know what are the chances of being admitted through waitlist in the pool of applicants so I’m not looking too forward to anything.
This decision doesn’t define the person you are (: You have so much potential and being an international student is a big challenge you endured through!
Don’t give up! you got this! 
I met with a UCSB counselor last month. She advised that IF I was to be waitlisted, that it would be best to send in an appeal. The appeal process is on the UCSB website. She said that I could send in an appeal (once again, if I was waitlisted) showing that I have either progressed, or will progress etc. Also, through the appeal you can send in letters of recommendations. Just to help anyone on the waitlist. Don’t just accept the waitlist spot, send in an appeal. It will better help your chances of being admitted.

Also, only 1,000 students were picked for the waitlist. You have a chance! Don’t give up.

Pre-reqs: missing a lot actually. I was planning to apply for psychology but when I found out that they no longer offer that major I was advised to apply for PBS.

This is the first acceptance that I’ve received, so I’m pretty happy about this.
Thanks, I chose Statistics for my major in UCSB, and talk a lot about economics in my PS. Also, the pre-reqs I took are about Econ. I saw there is no pre-reqs on statistics, but they might still look at the courses I took. I am chill now, waiting for UCD/UCI/UCSD/UCLA(lol).
