@avocadotoasts I need to get into family student housing first. I signed up for the May 3 Gaucho Transfer Friday event, and I may try to meet with one of the program’s advisors on that date to find out more info. Also, in the email they state to feel free to call with any questions, so I may do that as well.
If you guys were admitted and plan on transfer you guys should join the “UCSB Transfers (2019 Admits)” facebook page!
@ucdochopeful2k19 I haven’t gotten any decisions yet either
I received the invite but the program sounds rather underwhelming…unless I’m missing something. It sincerely seems like I’d be doing them a favor by helping populate banal classes. Yeah, no thank you.
@ucdochopeful2k19 same, i have not heard back yet from any UC school
@avocadotoasts I haven’t accepted. I’m still waiting for other transfer decisions. I’m assuming that because it’s sort of an exclusive fellowship, we won’t have very many problems signing up for those classes. Also, not sure if those credits will count toward our majors, so I don’t know if I want to do it because I’m planning on double majoring and I don’t want to hit the credit cap before I finish.
@birdup same… I live over two hours away and I’m not sure if it’s worth the drive
Is anyone going to open house or jumpstart?
@africangirl97 I’m going to open house. Never been to the campus before, so it’ll be nice to see it in person.
hey! for those admitted, does it say your housing is off campus when you look at your financial aid online through the portal? i don’t remember checking that I will live off campus, as I definitely want to live in a ucsb transfer housing arrangement. I can’t seem to change it to on campus either.
@kailaniiiiii it says off campus for mine too, and I applied for on campus on the fafsa application
@stressexpress i’m relieved to know i’m not the only one! it says transfers submit housing contracts in June so I’m assuming it shows up as off campus until then?
@kailaniiiiii I hope so! I’m kind of disappointed in their financial aid packet and i saw a few others had the same problem.
Good luck ! ? god it’s so nerve wrecking.
@stressexpress I know me too
i got nothing lol
Has anyone else tagged to UCSB but still haven’t heard back?
@Lindsaylsb I TAGGED but the decision still pending.
It’s a moot point.
You are going to get the same financial aid package if you are on-campus or off-campus. Having on-campus will not give you more aid money.
@bruins8clap I was under the impression that living on campus does give you more to cover for housing costs, while living off campus gives you less due to lowered cost of living. Is that not true?
@ilovemydog the Cost of Attendance will change, but I think they just offer you more loans to cover the higher cost of living.
