UCSB Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

still pending, always pending. help.

i guess we’re all pending pals

@cloud7 yes. My prereqs are better suited for certain majors at other UC’s. UCSB wasn’t really my focus but this being my only admissions decision and having a rejection is extremely discouraging.

@chloesalem I’m scared for UCSD too now

Would they release it past like 5?
Should we just stop checking until the 30th?

I just can’t see someone at ucsb sitting at a computer at 5:28 still sending out decisions.

@DJCABO on the UCSC thread some people got their acceptances at 4am and onward … I think people are working around the clock especially for the schools that are behind their typical release schedule…

@ucdochopeful2k19 Then I think you have a really good chance of getting into some of the other UCs. I know someone who was rejected from UCSB (for missing one prereq) but accepted to UC Berkeley last year.

Still pending for me as well… freaking me out a little since my GPA is way over the average GPA range for my major and I have all but one of the prereqs done…

Why can’t they just pick a date and stick to it? Why release a few decisions on a Sunday afternoon? I almost don’t want to go there if their staff is this bad at communicating. Just release all decisions on one day like UCLA and Berkeley

@ucdochopeful2k19 I wouldn’t get completely discouraged yet. I know tons of people that have some major preps missing and still got into amazing schools such as UCSD. If the major Prep courses aren’t done, UCLA and UCB might be a loss, but other amazing schools understand that when you transfer from a 4-yr things get way more complicated. Don’t get too down! Other schools still to come.

If you want a crazy story, follow this person who was rejected from a ton of places and had no idea what to do with her life, and she turned it around! She is aso coming from a 4- Yr https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60oXEQeQOOA

@Trashception @cloud7 thanks for the reassurance. I really appreciate the positivity right now. I’m actually transferring from a CCC, but I’m hopeful. We will see.

@ucdochopeful2k19 oh I guess I misread earlier. Yeah stay hopeful! You can actually call the admissions office and ask them why you were rejected. If it was a problem with entering data (aka wrong amount of credits entered), you have a strong chance of appealing and still getting in. Major Prep completion is by far the most important factor in deciding admissions… but don’t freak out!

I’m just glad I’m not alone on the pending wagon

@jmoon16 I’m also an OOS transfer applicant that’s still pending :frowning:

3.8 GPA at a top public university on the east coast, should be in good shape regarding prereqs…I applied Global Studies with Poli Sci as my backup. Super frustrated, I even called on April 1 and they said they would make a priority note on my application…clearly that didn’t happen ?

I told them that I had to put down deposits on housing and study abroad for next year at my current University that I couldn’t get refunded, but they probably just told me that to get me off the phone lol  supposedly spoke with a counselor who didn’t have my application in her que.

@aef302 It’s nice to see another OOS east coast transfer applicant! And yes it really has been extremely frustrating, especially since the results will determine if I’ll be moving across the country over the summer, and planning for it will be pretty difficult if I don’t get my results till the 30th! But good luck! Our chances are lower since we are OOS, but have you been seeing any OOS transfer admittances/ their stats?

@jmoon16 where are you at now? I’m at UVA. really not sure UCSB is even still an option, I’ll have to get out of a lease at this point. haven’t seen any other OOS people, feels like we are definitely in the minority!

I’m also OOS east coast transfer! transferring from NYU here, hopefully we’ll hear back soon :frowning:

I would take a " decision pending " over a rejection any day, however my anxiety is now through the roof as I’m checking the portal multiple times everyday

Why are they denying outstanding people ?lol I got my rejection 3.8 gpa-one hellofa essay and 60+ units. It’s all good I never planned on attending

this wave of rejections is making me so nervous ughh
