Just checked my portal at 3:30pm and I was offered a waitlist position. I did accept to be on waitlist.

I applied to UCSB with first choice Mechanical and second choice Computer Science.
Not sure if there is anyone else whose decision is still pending lol.

Hi just wanted to come on here and say that if you got accepted but aren’t planning on attending please decline the offer so waitlists can be notified sooner ?
Accepted to UCSB (TAG)
Major: Biological science
GPA: ~3.6 (went to 3 different community colleges)
IGETC: completed
major prep: not completed (will finish physics and the second semester of ochem at whichever college i will attend)
Hi guys! I am having a hard time making up my mind by either going to UCSD, UCSB, or CSULB. I know I should not look at just going to a CSU or UC to flex because I don’t like it when others look down on people who attend CSUs and whatnot. I got looked down for attending a CC, so it impacted my self-confidence a bit.
At UCSD, I applied as a Microbio major, but I plan to change it to molecular and cell biology once I am there. At UCSB, I got in as a Biological Science major, and for CSULB: Molecular Biology & Physiology. I plan to go into the medical field by trying to go to PA school. I finished all the IGETC, but did not finish the major prep (the 2 physics courses and the second Organic Chemistry course). I listed out an average of how many classes I would need to take once I’m at the school of my choice and at UCSD, I have to take~19 courses, UCSB: ~20 courses, CSULB: ~17 courses, for my major (hopefully I’m counting them right). I also listed out the pros and cons because when I visited UCSB twice, I realized there weren’t too many medical opportunities, such as not having their own hospital like UCSD, and it was basically just the beach that was nearby. I do plan to go back to UCSB this weekend to talk to the counselors and advisors to see how many students were able to receive many medical opportunities there. I remember two graduating students at UCSB were in my Biology class and they told me they weren’t able to get into PA school, so they came back home to attend a CC and gain more patient care experience, so I’m just trying to gain as much patient care experience during my time at college, so if I do need to take a gap year or two, I wouldn’t have to stress too much like them. Please let me know what you think!
Are TAG decisions out yet for UCSB?! I’ve been checking my UCTap everyday but still nothing!
@mel9827 You should be checking your UCSB portal, even if you tagged. Expect a decision by 5/6pm tonight.
If you guys decide to go make sure to join the fb group “UCSB Transfers (2019 Admits)”
Finally accepted for Mechanical!
@queen_ofthenorth How can you say no to the beach? Im moving from Sacramento to SB if I get in off my appeal. in my opinion UCD is just a college town in the middle of a cow patch. Your going to be traveling around to other places to do thing like going Sacramento, The bay area, Tahoe or Napa. I know a few people who went to UCD and its deffentaly going to be a more competitive environment than UCSB. I visited UCSB and to be fair its just a big college town like UCD but its on the beach. You can have fun playing with the cows in the pasture, im over it. I wouldn’t unless there was some prestige academic program I was trying to get in. To be honest I understand why people want to go there so bad, but no one wants to go to Merced.
Okay waiting for this waitlist decision is literally killing me, please decline your offer if you arent going?
Just declined my admission. Hope this helps ?
Declined my offer, hope it helps too
