i honestly think my supplemental essays pulled me through. also, my sibling went here, so im guessing that was somewhat of a factor, because i got marshall like her. SAT’s and SAT2’s were good, but not spectacular,
Congrats to all!!

@COLJ486 I love your attitude dude! Don’t worry, I’m quite certain you’ll get into an even better school. If you applied to Cal and UCLA, I’m sure you’ll get in with those stats. Good luck and keep up the awesome attitude! Kudos to you

@jkimzo hey we’re the same major Do you mind telling me the difference between Computer Science and Engineering and Mathematics and Computer Science

Accented w/Regents
Muir college (first choice)
Physiology and Neuroscience major
unweighted GPA: 4.00
UC weighted GPA: 4.45 (highest possible at high school)
SAT: 2390 (800w/790m/800cr)
SAT IIs: 740 USH - 710 Bio E - 720 Lit

Lots of leadership and ECs, every slot was filled on the application. Two separate science internships, both rather prestigious. Well-written essays that highlighted my best ECs. Not all that surprised by the acceptance (or even by regents), but the financial aid package came in phenomenally better than I had anticipated, by about $7,000 a year. No loans or work study as part of the package either, purely grant based. Now to decide between this, Columbia (accepted with a likely letter a few weeks ago), and Harvard/Princeton/Stanford if I get in, might come down to the financial aid…

Accepted into General Bio, ERC
GPA: 3.5 UW, 3.9 UC Weighted
SAT: 2060, SAT II Math 690
Average EC’s
Good essays (although after this college accepted me, they might’ve been better than I thought)

@pandabearexpress: Huh. I wonder how many freshmen were admitted then.

And my guess is that UCSD’s accept rate will go down from the 2012 35% reported statistic (not like the university will create more space for freshmen just because there were more applicants). If UCLA doesn’t go any lower, then I sure hope that my UCSD acceptance will speak of something good about my UCLA admission :/

Who knows, maybe this year, UCSD is actually harder to get into than UCLA based off of acceptance rate. Probably not, but still possible.

Accepted
Marshall College
Bioengineering
uw GPA: 4.0
UC GPA: no idea
SAT: 2290 (800m/760cr,730w)
SAT IIs: 800 Math II, 760 BioM, 730 Chem, 730 USH, 650 Span w/ list

Disappointed about no Regents; though my EC’s and essays would pull me the extra few yards. No complaints, bioengineering is stellar at UCSD. Already got accepted to UCLA for bioengineering. Fingers crossed for Berkeley, my number 1.
