If they admit the same number as last year (expecting the same yield), then the admit rate will be somewhere around 33.9%. However, I’m not sure how many people they are expecting to enroll, as numbers have dramatically increased over the past two years (from 3,444 in 2011 to 5,228 in 2013).

If they wanted to yield say, 4,250 students, the admit rate would be around 27%, assuming a yield rate of 21%.

Congrats everyone’s acceptance. Did anyone got “Please join us for our Annual Overnight Program April 3-5, 2014 to find out what it’s really like to be a UC San Diego student” in the email? and what is your go or no go decision?

@2018dad You are probably correct about the admit rate as a whole, but the admit rate for the engineering schools probably lowered very significantly.

Accepted!!!

Waiting on UCLA! sooo nervous. Many of you who didnt get in were certainly qualified, it’s just the unfortunate way that UCSD admits by major that makes it so much harder for some. It’s a shame, and I wish you all the best of luck!

Accepted as a Communications major and just saw through the portal that I was accepted into my first choice college Muir. Was very excited when I got the phone call but was nervous about my twin sister getting in. She got waitlisted and now I’m confused and heartbroken. Good job to those who got in and good luck to those waitlisted and rejected. Everything will fall into place the way it should.

P.S. anyone else from Muir? I’d like to make some new friends :D

@knit2create Was your son able to make it to Computer Science during the fall of the freshman year? Is this a realistic bet to take? My daughter got admitted to Computer Science in UC Davis. Wondering if UCSD is worth the risk?
