I don’t think the tours were only for San Diego residents. When we went they asked around the room and people were from all over So Cal. I think there may have been one OOS person as well, sorry my memory of that is foggy.
@wormholes I would not worry too much, I know a bunch of very qualified applicants who didn’t get tour invite
@Niceguy720720 Ok, thanks! I just hope they release decisions soon!
For those who already got the VIP tour like @ZHB1999 's son, can you post your stats please? UCSD has been my top school for 6 years and now the few week waiting period seems like an eternity.
For me-
In state female
33 ACT
4.18 UC capped GPA
Good ECs
Accepted into UCI CHP (if that helps for reference at all?)
Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!
@JuicyMango In 2015 I think decisions came out on Friday the 13th, and in 2016 on Friday the 11th. Both of these days were 5 days after the last scheduled “Early Calling Campaign” date (when they finish calling the URMs and next day start on the Regents and others.) So if they follow the same pattern, decision day this year could be on Friday the 10th. I have seen previous decision days from the 11th through the 16th. So I am betting it will be either of two Fridays, the 10th or 17th. Just my guess.
33 ACT

Eagle scout and probably strong essays.
He had to do admission by examination because of his non traditional schooling which means 2 subject tests as well.
No UC GPA because his classes were not A-G.
He has not been accepted (as far as we know) to UCI CHP. Which really stinks since we are within commuting distance but then again maybe that is why he was not offered it. Who knows.
@BunnyBlue Oh so not that much longer from the early calling campaign. Well anyway, good luck to you
Hope you get a call

@wormholes @Niceguy720720 I was invited and I’m from Orange County
Can we please not have any “God has a plan” nonsense in this chat? This is a forum for college decisions, not preaching your religious beliefs.
On a separate note, I too just received a call. I’m looking forward to meeting you all at Triton Day!!
For those of you who received a call, were all the calls from “Restricted”? Or was it an actual number?
@Stewartson that was like 2 pages ago. I answered a question as well in that post. No one else said anything about it since then. You are free to ignore it. My comment was out of charity, yours was just to be mean.
Which applicants receive phone calls? Just the cream of the crop? Do the rest simply find out in a large wave mid-March?
@austingal According to this notice from 2016, they call under-represented minorities, Regents, Chancellor’s, and other top admits.
Thanks, @BunnyBlue. I think we won’t be getting one of those calls. Oh well.
Did anyone get a call today?
I hate that admissions is making us wait for the official decisions when they’ve clearly already decided. It’s so cruel…CSUF for me I guess.
@h1pnand3z Trust me, I know how you feel. UCSD is one of my top choices, if not my top choice, and it sucks having to wait so long. It’s especially difficult these last two weeks leading up to decision day because some people are getting calls and all that. All I can say is try your best to focus on other things, and don’t give up hope. You have no reason to believe that you’ve been rejected until you hear from the college Good luck!
