@ElGuiri Just got called by UCSD for the congratulations.
@Interested1945 I do wonder when they are coming out, do you think it would be this week?
@Julieta2321 You were a calming presence as we all waited for decisions to be released. Thank you so much for that. I have one last question for you. Since Preuss is actually on campus is it safe to say you love the UCSD environment? Are there other schools you are considering? Oops, that was 2 questions!
@CopperlineX2 I do like the campus. From my seven years being here there are a few things that stand out.
First one is that it’s a beautiful campus, everything is so innovative (this is compared to other campuses in San Diego). The environment itself is okay. Out of many of the people who walk from class one to class two not many begun talking. Almost everyone is on the phone hearing music or making phone calls. There are some people that have someone else to socialize with while they walk to class. UCSD host many events though I always see posters for free food if you attend their event, and other things like library open until 2 am for studying. Geisel Library (the big building in front of many pamphlets) is not in front of the beach (not that it matters). There are many Chinese, Asian, Vietnamese, Taiwanese students here. Walking from my internship to school more than 50% of the students are of those races. In Front of Gisel/Price Center there are always people protesting (Abortion, religion, menstrual cycles, etc…) and they are always yelling about this but free speech. The bike lockers are always full! So there’s already no parking but now bike lockers are also very full. And the last thing I can think of is that everyone is so competitive. There’s always people in the library studying.
Im choosing to attend UCSD because
- Full ride
- Excellent Education in Neurobiology
- And I love how competitive it is
P.S. This information has come from my own experience and from the voice of the many thousands of millions of UCSD students that come to talk about UCSD (about 1 every two - four weeks since 6th grade) Students also say they get tired of socializing after the first trimester.
@Julieta2321 Hey, I got into Neurobiology at Marshall, but I was wondering what the difference is between Neurobiology and Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience. Like what are some pros/cons, and which one is more respected as a pre-phd or pre-med major?
Has anyone received their financial aid packet for UCSD?
@Galbanus nope.
I called the financial aid office today and the lady said it will be of the end of the week and we will receive an email once it is posted
Does anyone know when they send acceptance packets?
@Julieta2321 I hope so but the website says by the 30th or something like that in past years
@LolliCoomassie Thank you.
Hi there guys! I was wondering if anyone could tell me a little bit about the Aerospace Engineering program? Also how is the female to male ratio in the college of engineering in general? UCSD is looking like it’s going to be my home for the next four years but the social aspect really worries me considering that I’m a really social person. Thank in advance for the response!
Has anyone received the email with steps to login to the Triton Checklist, where you submit stuff for housing/immunization records etc.?
Got in for Global Health at Muir!
UC GPA: not sure but probs like 3.9+
SAT: 1430, 1460 superscored (780 english 680 math)
Pretty great essays if I say so myself
decent ECs including Partnership for Refugee Rehabilitation, Special Olympics, a 50 hour summer hospital volunteer program, NHS, etc
Also Accepted: Nursing programs at UConn, U San Francisco,
SDSU, BYU
Rejected: Northeastern, UCLA
Waiting: UCI, NYU
Can only go if I get reallyyyyy good financial aid which is unlikely. Also I want to major in Nursing so not sure if this is a good choice but it’s been my dream school for years and the best school i’ve gotten into so far
@Wilsondontstarve I received the link to create an account but it says to wait 2-3 days after accepting to start the triton checklist.
paid my enrollment deposit last night, got an email receipt, and there’s still a red x by it in my portal, does it take a while to update or should i talk to someone?
@finbone it takes a few days to go through. I accepted and paid Friday and it didn’t update until yesterday.
I accepted but I haven’t paid any deposit, I have received the triton checklist this morning.
Housing is only guaranteed for 2 years, where do students usually stay after 2 years? I am assuming La Jolla is very expensive neighborhood. Any idea on housing cost outside the university?
What is the best way to find a roommate for 6th college, or in general for UCSD?
