Yes. He was on waitlist till yesterday for Mechanical Engineering and at 7 PM they uploaded that denial letter on his portal.
Did anyone else get rejected? This is the first im hearing about even being able to be rejected before it closes
I’m so sorry to hear that your son was rejected. Wishing him the best.
sorry to hear that. did he get an email telling him to check his portal?
people are already being rejected? that makes me so nervous. sorry to hear about your son, hope all is well.
Since when are they sending out rejection letters this early?
@lovesocal Oops, a bit late, but here’s my stats!
Applied Math, Roosevelt College
4.05 w, 1560 SAT, in state (bay area)
Got off the waitlist yesterday into Nanoengineering! (alternate choice after CS) Muir College, 4.5 w, 35 ACT, 1480 SAT, IS Bay Area
Accepted off the waitlist yesterday into Muir College for marine bio. I am declining the offer bc I am going to ucsb next year, so one more spot for someone else! good luck to those still waiting
Thanks, hopefully it’s me lol
@iamagaucho omg youre living my dream muir college is my first choice and I really want to study marine bio at ucsd!!!
Tired of hitting the refresh button and seeing a trickle of posts on this site. Anyone care to post what school/major and home state that they accepted while dealing with this pure emotional torturous wait?
Ohio State University/Mechanical Eng/From Ca (have never visited the school due to Covid-19)
i committed to uc davis for bio and im from CA as well
also if anyone is interested, i was looking at last years waitlist discussion thread and the 2019’s waitlist acceptances came out on april 26, may 7, then a small wave on may15-may16 and then the last wave on may 24. Since this year they came out on april 28 and may 7, which are very close to last year’s first two dates, i predict that the next wave will come out sometime next week around the 15th, but thats just my guess.
@icer579 thank you taking the time to actually look that up! Gives me (and probably a lot of people) something to look forward to next week
Yea, I think someone in the earlier pages said it’s going to come out on the 14th.
This is not a normal year. Schools are also looking at “melt” and factoring in the % of students who may not return who are already students who don’t see the value in paying full tuition for online education or who aren’t suited for that delivery method. Once schools declare what their plans are for the next school year, there may be more movement on the wait list.
My daughter is a biomolecular engineering student at UC Santa Cruz and she has several classmates struggling because labs are not designed to be done “remotely”. They are looking at smaller schools in areas where it’s easier to open and they can get the hands-on experience they need to be successful once they graduate.
Has anyone gotten off for economics?
Next week is a small wave…? We are screwed
so we can be rejected off the waitlist…?
