UCSD decisions are out Fall 2009

I am entering as a Poli Sci major with International Relations emphasis (if I am accepted). I don’t recall any Poli Sci pre-reqs. and now I see some people mentioning Poli Sci Prereqs…what are they or where do I find them?

Also anyone know if decisions have posted today or will this week?

(Should say PrerequIsites in the title)

^^

There are not many pre-reqs for that major just 5 and they will vary upon the CC you are at (if they are offered or not).

"has any chemistry majors receive an acceptance letter? "

i did =] … about a month ago

okay, well I have all those classes done.

and Igetc, no news of acceptance though

^^^^
did u finish your English courses by end of fall 08?
if not then u arnt tag…but otherwise im sure you are in if your tag.
three really smart guys at my school haven’t heard from ucsd yet.(Hi friend from Bangladesh)
any ways im sure they are in but they haven’t heard they must be in the last batch!!!
so if 4.0’s haven’t heard i wouldn’t worry to much if ur stats arnt bad your probably in…

ohh and also in regards to igetc …while i agree you dont have to have igetc done it is wise since at ucsd you still have to do lower division ge unless u did igetc. i hope that clarifies my point. ucsd requires a full lower division general ed curriculum for all majors… u can get in with out igetc for sure my friend did also. But he has to do his lower division ge’s now which depending on which school you get into may be another year on top of every thing either way.
If u got in are you going to transfer day?

accepted a few weeks ago.marshall. polisci. 3.5gpa. tag =]

Ok, so I just finished the meeting with my school’s UCSD rep.

The rep said, they’ve finished reviewing all the applicants, and they are in the process of prepping them(to upload onto the site). She said depending on other factors like EOP status and Financial Aid, we should hear from them either middle of this week or early next week.

Also for those afraid about the reqs. she said, as long as you meet the unit total, minimum gpa, and complete the required classes(igetc)–all by the end of spring–you will gain admission onto the campus. Prereqs and all that good stuff affect which college you get into more than it affects your admission onto campus. (((For CCC students)))

As far as why some of us are hearing from them sooooo late, they just shuffle their applications after the deadline to randomize it.

Hope this helps…Good Luck!!!

so theoretically, according to your source im in? lol…what if not?

appeal. lol

unit total: check
min gpa: check
igetc: check

all by end of spring: check

can i start celebrating?? haha

not too fast, you don’t want to end up in revelle!

holy crap revelle was my first choice(chose randomly). daymm whats wrong with revelle?

How do they decide which of the six colleges they place you in? Some people got their first choice, some didn’t!

when they say minimum gpa…do they mean

(1) the minimum gpa required to to transfer to a UC(2.8?)

or

(2) do they decipher a minimum gpa that THEY will accept students with(maybe like 3.1 or so), and whoever is above that threshold will receive admission(provided they fulfill the other requirements.

I didn’t ask her what exactly she ment by min. gpa, she said I was “well above it” and I have a 3.48

My brother should have applied! : ( He fulfilled IGETC and minimum units but missing 2 pre-reqs and 3.2-ish GPA, so didn’t even apply for UCSD. He didn’t want to waste application fee, since there’s no way he’d get in. Well, he’s happy about going to CalPoly SLO, but it would’ve been much nicer if he and I could go to same school. Ugh.

Anyway, thanks for info tekierz!

How about this guys ?
3.1 gpa Politica science
pre reqs done
igetc done
200 hrs law firm internship
accepted to ucsb , uci , ucr, ucd

You guys think ill be okay from what he said above ?

yeah i think you’ll be fine

Aaaahhh UCSD was my first choice school but I got accepted to Revelle :(

3.4 Poli Sci, horrible at math and the math req. to graduate Revelle is gonna kill me…

Oh wow, my odds are looking good, hopefully I hear by next week.

Would getting into UCD and UCSB be a good indication that I fulfilled IGETC, I’m like 90% sure, but not 100%.

Poli Sci Major
2.8-3.2 GPA Depends on some classes that I dont thing were factored

Thanks!
