@roohafzahmami101 I think its honestly not a screw up, but honestly i’m sure this is prob the biggest waitlist I have seen/heard from a UC! (well maybe not UCLA or CAL)

i actually think it’s a lot of rejections and waitlists and i’m even surprised at a lot of them (super pissed at the whole rejecting veterans with stellar stats like what)
i didn’t see a lot of applicants here for public health but for me, an upward trend in gpa and my ec’s weren’t focused on my major in a ““boring””/expected way? i put myself in a lot of different things like theater production, special needs events, tutoring. leadership and mentor positions. my essays were spoken with my sarcastic sense of humor for some and more serious for those relating to my major and hardships to explain my rise in gpa from a 2.6.
also all of that cs/engineering/bus admin are crazy impacted and sooo many of you. it must’ve gotten so nitty gritty to decide who gets in and doesn’t.

I had 3.94 GPA and 4.0 major GPA. Everything complete like you and pretty decent pre reqs. No. Traditional CCC student. From what I’ve read is that it could do with the wanting to protect their yields? I got into UCLA as well but San Diego was my first choice, so maybe that’s it? You seem more than qualified for UCSD going off their Mech stats from the last couple years. If you were straight up rejected and you want to go then I would appeal, you have a very strong case.
You didn’t happen to take credits at a 4 year university did you? That would be an automatic reject I think if you go over the credit limit.
