I think UCSD made a really bad decision by choosing to release their decisions some random day this week. A lot of people are stressed about UCLA & Cal this week and, at least for me, the stress of those two combined has pushed UCSD to the back of my brain…especially since I have no idea when to even expect a decision

Yup, this whole delay has led me to put UCSD on the backboard. At this point, I have an amazing offer from UCSB and I’m hoping for UCLA. While I’d like to know if I got into UCSD, it’s no longer the priority it once was. I wouldn’t be surprised if this delay led to noticibly lower yield rates for UCSD.
I only applied to UCSD so this whole week has been a mess for me.

My school had a UCSD transfer event scheduled for the 18th that got changed to the 25th because “people would be notified by the 25th”
@jinyung2 i strongly recommend, if you can, to take that one course over the summer…
not being igetc certified can turn into a nightmare. if you transfer here, to graduate you need to fulfill major requirements, university requirements, and the upper division requirements of the college you are admitted into (muir, warren, 6th, etc.) the college requirements for transfers are only 2-3 courses except for one college that has over 6! If you are not igetc certified you also have to take the lower division requirements to the college which are a LOT. you could accept admission (and yes be offered admission,) but if you can take that 1 course and then have your school update you as certified, you can have them notify ucsd anytime during your first academic year of you already being enrolled. Just something to think about. It will not affect your chances of being admitted, only the amount of work you will need to complete to graduate.
The UCs should just have one day to release transfer apps the way Ivies do.

@ericbadmon where did you hear that grad schools look at CC grades? 'cause they totally didn’t look at many people who I know got into grad school. They look at your major-specific courses… to make sure you’re a good fit for the program?
