@aylaylaiiiyaaa ugh that has got to be so frustrating at this point! I wish you the best of luck!!
@Scoobybrew Hey! I just know that it is rather difficult to change into an engineering major, but your friends might be right and it is easier to change from one engineering major to another. I would talk to an advisor just so you have a definitive answer from an official worker there. I suggested looking at the courses required for each major because if they are rather similar and you can obtain the same jobs…then there wouldn’t be much point in changing. This is just my opinion of course. Maybe you might even like the courses for the major you were accepted in. Regardless, congrats on your acceptance!
Is there a facebook group for us transfers here 2021? Or does anyone want to start it if there isn’t one already?
@yoyopopa I honestly was just about to look for one on facebook rn
@tesla01 I found the orientation for my college and it isn’t until September. It says that we won’t be registering at orientation, that registering will be done online.
@kristinpete im definitely going to call and ask. If they don’t tell me, I’m going to go in person. I’m probably going to appeal based on what their answer is.
@oofwhatamood after touring the campus a few times yes it is a bit quiet but people are pretty outgoing and friendly for the most part and I don’t see myself having an issue making new friends here. Plus there’s lots of diverse clubs and organizations as well!
@ucdochopeful2k19 Last year for Global Health, they had a 70% admit rate (very high!). They only had a 39% yield rate. With a 4.0, you were definitely a top applicant. If they were protecting their yield in not admitting you, they could have at least put you on the waitlist…The only other possibility is that they say there was a problem with your required courses.
does anyone know if you can change the college you got into? I was accepted into Sixth College but want to be a part of Earl Warren
@EthanSwrvs: Very difficult to change colleges unless you find another student that is willing to change with you.
@Gumbymom good to know! thanks
Did anyone try to call the admission office and asked them why rejected?
@Tiredwaiting2019 what college is yours? My daughter was admitted to Marshall. I see they have orientation in September too (they list three different days - does anyone know if it’s a 3-day orientation or a 1-day orientation and you can choose one of the 3 days?). Where did you see that registering will be done online, and do you know when? I don’t see anything about registration on the Marshall page about orientation. Thanks!
@oofwhatamood Both schools are great for biology & all my friends who’ve attended UCI for bio love it and have a lot of fun on campus – if the social setting is a deciding factor for which campus you’d choose then I would recommend a campus tour.
Has anyone received their Congratulations, admissions package in the mail? I know for Transfer Triton Day it says to bring the badge you receive in the mail but I was just wondering if anyone has received it yet?
^hey i live like 10 mins from UCSD and i haven’t gotten mine yet so i doubt they have sent them
I just got my acceptance package today.
Just got a response from the financial aid office about the Regents Scholarship in regards to my question. They pretty much redirected me back to the page about the Regents Scholarship and that it would show up on your college financing plan if you got it.
I live in riverside county and just got my packet in the mail today
awwww now i feel excluded lol
