Very unfortunate that there weren’t any acceptances sent out whatsoever in the month of June, I would have absolutely loved to go here. Try not to lose hope entirely they extended the waitlist for freshmen so it’s possible there may be a handful of acceptances in the next month or so. In any case, good luck to all of you in the future I’m sure you’ll do great things and be happy regardless of where you ultimately enroll
@stressedsnr Did they say until when they will extend the waitlist for the freshman waitlist?
@sstudent2020 I believe it was to the end of July but they didn’t release any acceptances for freshmen in June either so I’m not sure what the purpose of the extension was.
Thank you for the update. If you go on the UCSD website https://admissions.ucsd.edu/transfer/application-timeline.html it now says that the waitlist will be done by August 1st. I can’t believe that they didn’t even bother to inform the people on the waitlist about any of the updates. Its been radio silent for a whole month now. I get that they are under extreme stress and don’t know how the “summer melt” aftermath will be but man I wish they would at least send an email or something.
UCSD sent out rejection letter to freshman waitlist today.
@wannagoback yooo rest in peace
Did anyone hear back? I’ve been so nervous after they closed the freshmen’s waitlist. UCSD has the highest populations of international students from all the UCs so I thought many more people were going to be out of the waitlist.
I haven’t heard anything back either
I’ve been focused on UCSB and getting everything done to enroll there so luckily that’s been taking this off my mind lol
I’m just not counting on SD anymore and I don’t want you guys to be thinking of this school 24/7 since I know how stressful it is. If you’re already committed to another school definitely focus on that and just let this be until the final decisions come out; if you don’t have a backup school focus on going back to CC and getting your gpa up by taking one or two easy classes! We’re all very smart and capable people, don’t let this one school make your life even more stressful than it already is! There are other schools out there that care more about their prospective students than ucsd!
I’m still trying to have some hope since they generally accept more people off the waitlist and they didn’t release anything throughout June, but honestly my anxiety is through the roof because I’m afraid they already met their enrollment targets
@stressedsnr It’s definitely difficult to not think about this school, especially since they’re keeping all of us waiting until August. Don’t worry, my anxiety was through the roof too. As much as we all would love to attend this school, it really is beyond our capabilities. I was putting myself down because I felt like I wasn’t good enough for SD. But the whole UC system is just out of line, people get accepted and rejected at random, regardless of a good GPA and personal essay. As long as you have your goal set, regardless of where you go, you will get there. Make sure to take advantage of what is already offered. I had a friend tell me that just because one door closed on you doesn’t mean you should lose hope and your attention on everything else. More doors will open, just take the path that is given to you.
@lalalisa You are very positive about this and glad you are getting prepared for UCSB! It’s going to be a beautiful school, and I know you will just love the beach when everything gets back to normal. Make sure to live it up, you will certainly enjoy your time there.
ALSO… very random… but if you guys ever want to follow me on instagram @colevillalon it would be cool to kinda make some online friends along this journey haha!
After July 1 st, each UC will take their time and verify transcripts of each applicant to see who is not really enrolling. The verification process might take up to ten days so I am guessing we should hear back some decisions starting next week if not earlier. Good luck and happy holiday
This thread is, well, dead.
The waitlist decisions have not been said
I sent my email, I’ve been left on read
And now I weep, on my bed

Has anyone sent in their grades from spring/do they accept them?
I feel you. It feels like they forgot about us. At least for UC Berkley, they emailed them saying the waitlist has been extended. They have live chats where they can communicate and get some answers. UCSD has said absolutely nothing. This is extremely frustrating and I wish they were more transparent. I get that they don’t know a lot and things are not predictable especially with the whole international students thing going on, but even them saying that they don’t know would be something. They should have at least some data to predict, I will take anything at this point. I don’t know if I have the right but I am extremely disappointed in UCSD and how they are handling the waitlist this year. In the end, it’s all business but I feel ignored and just left aside for their convenience.
They don’t take spring grades
Well, we will all find out by early August, so the waiting game continues.
@uctransfernick where did find out its early August? Sorry, I just haven’t had any updates and I thought we would be done max by the end of the month. I really hope that with all this wait and anxiety is not all for just a rejection.
I emailed admissions earlier today.
As follows:
Me:
“Hello,
I have been on the transfer waitlist for quite some time. I was wondering if the waitlist is still being used or have decisions been finalized, as there have been not been updates since the initial waitlist decision.
Thanks”
UCSD Admissions:
“Hello,
Thank you for your email. Waitlisted students should be notified by no later than early August.
Best regards”
@uctransfernick thank you for the update! With all this wait I really hope at that point they just accept all of us. This better not be all for nothing lol. I can’t believe we haven’t heard back anything since late May. I start school in mid-August. This is crazy.
Are you guys still holding out hope? I do think that this year may be different but at this point I’m worried that they’ve met all their enrollment goals and will just be sending out rejections.
