I had posted the info (on the UF class of 2027 thread) from some of the slides shared at the Dec 7 UF Board of Trustees meeting about priority deadline admissions statistics for this year (short story: applications up), as well as plans to introduce an early action/regular decision process starting next year.
I thought I’d just link to the video here; the discussion started a 1:10 (an hour and ten minutes in):

Interesting presentation.
UF will be announcing Early Action in the Spring. Looks like Nov 1’st, with the admits going out in January (several weeks earlier than today).
I think it’s a good idea for UF to go to the EA / RD process. Late Feb is late in the process for students. My student began getting acceptances in October and here in mid-December is waiting only on UF. The other schools are moving into admitted student weekends, sending swag, and planning housing. My spouse and his whole family attended UF and want to see another generation of Gator; but the time lag is just giving my kid time to fall in love with another school. I think the change will be good for Florida.
I totally agree. Late feb is a long wait, epecially for a 11/1 deadline.

Does being first gen really boost your chances at UF? They say it is important in the CDS so i’m wondering if it will really help, since I am first gen myself.
Anyone know if UF will release early? This waiting for a decision is SO hard! Any intel from previous year acceptance dates?
I don’t think UF has ever released early. I think they did do like 20 minutes early last year, but that’s it.
how selective is UF with their engineering majors? Also, if you have a lot of legacy there will they take that into account at all or just completely ignore.
UF does not admit to major so you just need to get into the entire school. Legacy is not considered.

was the residency for tuition form always showing on your guys portal? if you live in florida. because i dont remember that form being there, and i know i filled out something similar when i applied so im curious why this would have just now popped up for me.
I don’t have it, but I am out of state so not much help. If anyone has portal astrology for UF let me know. This is my top choice and I need to know!! lol
i do not have it either, also out of state!
I don’t think it means anything for us. We would not need to prove our residency. The UF Portal is so bearbones though, so I think portal astrology will be hard to come by. 
i think you’re probably right, uf is my top choice as well so the wait is absolutely killing me

its really confusing me because i def filled it out at the beginning of applying and right now it says REQUIRED in forms section, with no checkmark or indication i submitted it already so im a bit confused. Maybe they need me to fill it out again?
Yeah probably. I’m sure it means nothing. We are still many weeks away so they probably have not finished making decisions, yet alone uploading them into the portal.
