Yes! I got the same message! Yeah, at this point, I just really need to know so I can finally make my college decision based on the GPPA outcome.

I guess there’s more waiting to come…grrrr…

I got accepted today! Did anyone else hear yet?

I got accepted for med @landra: which program were you accepted into?

i got into med as well! :)

Did u guys hear by mail or email

@relevation, i heard by email.

In for med!

Congrats to those accepted. I still haven’t got a email. Hopefully this does not mean rejection as UIC GPPA med would be my #1 choice if i got in

Congrats to those getting accepted! Would you mind sharing your stats for those juniors applying for next year?

Approximately how many students are accepted each year into the GPPA Medicine and Dentistry programs?

25-30. they call 140 students for interview. about 800 students apply for this as it is a cheap in state college. this is only for locals. undergrad is done with 40,000 @10k per year.

Thanks for the information, HPMEMOM! Is that for both Medicine and Dentistry, or just Medicine? Do you have any stats on the Dentistry program?

Just wondering if i stand a chance for the g.p.p.a. medical school program
Ethnicity: Egyptian
Gender: Female
G.P.A. weighted: 5.2
rank: top quartile, our school doesn’t have a ranking system
ACT: highest I got is a 33 but I took it two more times and waiting for my scores
SAT II: planning on taking Biology and Math II
AP classes
Calc BC: 3 (took it sophomore year though after I skipped pre-calculus)
World History: 3
Language, Biology, Stats, Chemistry, Physics C, French: will take
Extra curriculars
Tennis team: JV freshman year
Science Olympiad: 3 years and will be captain next year
Service club: 2 years and continuing next year
National honor society
french club
Volunteer: tutoring middle school students weekly for 2 years and applied for a volunteer position at a hospital
Awards: 3rd place at regionals for science olympiad
academic achievement: honor roll
what do you think is it too impossible?

I think that it’s definitely possible, but keep in mind that the program looks at your application essays as much as your statistics. My own stats were less impressive than those of others who also got in, but I also have friends with much higher stats who weren’t invited to the second interview (med requires an extra one besides the honors interview). I wouldn’t say that stats mean nothing, but I would like to say that they look a lot at your reasons for choosing this program and what you plan to do with the benefits of having a guaranteed seat. Good luck on your application next year!

@HPMEMOM where did you get those numbers for costs? I question it because UIC just increased their tuition by almost 21% this year and I believe the med school is now over 30K/yr. Also for regular undergrad if you go to [UIC Admissions - Undergraduate Tuition and Fees - Fall 2013 and Spring 2014](http://www.uic.edu/depts/oar/undergrad/tuition_undergrad/tuition_ug_fal13_spr14.html) it works out to being about $6775 per semester and that doesn’t even include room and board yet. I may have misunderstood you but it’s $13K PLUS room and board each year. BUT that is still cheaper than most other programs isn’t it?

Hey I am also attending GBS!
I want to get into the GPPA program.
Do you have any advice?
How is the program?
Are you enjoying yourself there?
And how are the professors?

Hello! I’m interested in applying for the GPPA program.
I got a 34 on my ACT, 1 or 2 in my grade rank (they don’t actually rank but my friend apparently did the math? Yea…idk either), have gotten five 5’s and one 4, various academic achievements etc
I know I have the academic side down. My problem is extracurricular and volunteering.
I will have been an editor for our school’s yearbook for two years, this year my position as the most difficult. I’m a part of 4-5 clubs but I don’t take part in any sports (Im athletically challenged). I participated in drama my freshman year. I tutored for about six months and volunteering at my local library for one summer.

As you can tell, my biggest obstacle is showing my contribution to the community. School literally takes up all of my time that when it comes to the summer, I’m late to the party and don’t end up getting in applications as a candy striper or city volunteer or whatever. I got accepted into the National Honors Society where the volunteering is actually done once you are in, but I still don’t want to be gunning for that.

Any advice on how this will come off to UIC GPPA admission? Or how I can make myself unique with my stats? I don’t see myself as anything BUT a doctor and I know this program is my key into achieving so. Volunteer work will be the death of me though, so HELP ME PLZ?

working123, stats will do for GPPA. You dont need anything extra. Just grades and scores are enough for this school.
