Do they take people out from waitlist? When will they start? Did they email you or you need to check on their portal??

Yes I was waitlisted. Unfortunately, I was not waitlisted for computer engineering so I am no help there. They are starting to take people out from the waitlist as I was taken off earlier today. Normally, they start much later; if you look at their website- as I’m sure you have done- they say that they normally start in June. However, because of Coronavirus, it appears that they are admitting students much sooner. This appears to be the trend throughout colleges. Similarly, other colleges appear to be accepting many more kids off their waitlist; I should say I have not looked too deeply to see if this is also happening at UIUC. If I had to guess I would say it is. Finally, they sent me an email this morning, so there is no need to be refreshing the portal looking fora decision. Best of luck getting accepted!
Hey! I just got off the waitlist today for computer engineering around 12 pm. However, I did not receive any notifications on the financial aid just in case you were wondering! I was notified by email, and the decision should be on the portal as well.
