UK equivalents to USA awards?

<p>I entered the British Biology Olympiad and got a highly commended, but I hadn’t finished the course. I plan on trying again next year and aiming for a bronze or silver in the first round. I would also like to enter the senior mathematics challenge or the British Informatics Olympiad next year.</p>

<p>Are there any other competitions available in the UK? I’ve looked at science fairs, but don’t have the facilities available to make a long-term science project. Are there any UK art or writing competitions like the Scholastic one in the USA?</p>
