<p>Although I’ve always lived in the UK, I also have US citizenship so that sorts out some issues surrounding financial aid. I’m also half Mexican (so that ‘hispanic’ box will be being ticked). I know they’re reaches for everyone (etc), but I’m looking at Yale, Princeton, Brown, Cornell, and UChicago as my “tops” atm. I get basically no advice from school so anything would be much appreciated. </p>
<p>Here are my stats:
GCSE: 8A<em>, 4A, 1B (astronomy lol)
AS: 4 AS (highest grade possible at this level) in History (89%), Spanish (85%), English Lit (92%) and Religious Studies (100%)
AS: PREDICTED - 3 A</em>s (highest grade) in English, Spanish, and History
Extra academic: EPQ (like IB extended essay) on Linguistics, predicted A*, 3rd place in national essay competition, English Literature scholarship (given by school), and GDST scholarship (national org)</p>
<p>SAT: 800CR, 600M, 680W - I am retaking this, and hoping to improve both M and W to 700+

<p>First I have all my theatre-y related stuff: Member of the National Youth Theatre (v. competative to get into) Grade 8 LAMDA Distinction (highest acting award), involved in school productions, member of school Arts Council. FOUNDER of short film company - won two national awards (one open only to school students, the other open to everyone).</p>
<p>The volunteering: as a tutor (of Spanish and English) to Deaf children (used British Sign Language here) and in an after school club for autistic children. </p>
<p>Then work experience: Work experience in the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge (one week), and an internship in the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid (three and a half weeks); Member of John Soane Museum Youth Panel </p>
<p>Random other stuff: Debate club, won some regional competitions, and competed nationally; Ancient Greek club after school for the past three years, have studied for a extra ‘GCSE’ from this, and attended Ancient Greek summer school (two weeks) a year ago; founded the literature journal at my school, and am editor of this. </p>
