UMass Amherst class of 2024 Early Action Results

Have any English majors heard yet?

My daughter never got an email but her portal updated this afternoon to reflect her decision. Admitted to Isenberg with Chancellor’s Award. OOS 4.1 GPA, 1370 SAT. Congrats to all those accepted and good luck to everyone still waiting.

Any CS. today? Seems like a lot of CS acceptances last week, we’re CS and still waiting

CS here and also waiting. Seems like everyone from my school has gotten acceptances except for CS applicants.

Do you think they are still sending decisions? waiting for communications NY

they might at 7

i’m hoping

did they post somewhere that they would release more at 7?

on the twitter page they said they would release batches once per week. i think they are done for now and will continue next week. @umassadmissions: " Once a week, we will release the decisions that have been made, rather than make folks wait until all the decisions are done. Next batch will be early next week."

Are they doing all acceptances first? I applied into the college of social and behavioral sciences on the exploratory track and haven’t heard anything, starting to think this means i’m getting rejected.

Accepted EA
Isenberg

SAT: 1270 (670 MATH)
GPA 3.2 uw-- 3.6 w
In state

4 generations of legacy

1 AP, couple dual enrollment, over a dozen honors.
strong extra curricular’s

not my number one however

i don’t think so, this is what i found on the 2023 forum- posted by Umass admissions fb.
“We do not release by admitted students, deferred students, denied students, major or last name, or any other rumor that you may have heard. In other words, if you have not heard back yet, it does not automatically mean your decision is not going to be the decision you want. Just hang tight – we know you are all eager to see your decision, and we are doing the best we can to get these applications read and the decision released to you in a timely fashion. Keep an eye on your email; you will be notified when your application status changes.”

Just got my EA decision today. I got the email at 4:35 today.

I was accepted into the School of Public Health and Health Sciences as a Kinesiology major and into the honors college with chancellors award. I’m OOS from CT, 1500 SAT, 3.9 GPA weighted not extra for APs since my school doesn’t do that. Took 7 APs, rest all honors that we’re possible since I couldn’t do all honors freshman year at my school. I’m an EMT and volunteer regularly on a student run ambulance, play viola in multiple orchestras at high levels and am section leader, chairman of my church’s youth group and have a part time job.

Good luck to everyone else hope this helped!

So do we think they won’t release anymore until next week? Or are offices closed next week on winter break ?

It seems they are doing one day each week. I believe they can still release decisions even if they are out of office, as some people were accepted December 26 last year. I also wouldn’t believe all the rumors/ideas people have, as for example, apparently engineering wasn’t supposed to hear closer to the end of decisions in January, but a bunch of us got in today.

I haven’t heard of anyone getting rejected yet. Which poses the theory that the batches are in order of most likelys → maybes.

Also don’t lose hope, my math portion of my SAT is a 670, the bottom 25% for UMass Amherst engineering as published in their 2019 report. I also didn’t take honors math until junior year, and it has never been my best class. Your essay, two short answer responses and ECS will definitely help you out if you are confident in them. For me, I think writing about my experience being a woman in STEM and my love of science and making the world a better place through science helped convince them I was a good fit. I wish I gave myself more credit than I have been! With that being said I am as average as an above average student can be. You got this everyone, don’t lose hope!!!

Any international students got accepted to isenberg?

Congrats to all.

I would say to the poster with the SAT of less than 1300 and 3.2uw with 1AP that was accepted to Isenberg you should be thrilled.

Seriously unless you’re the grand son of Dr J or play ice hockey, it’s a remarkable achievement. It’s a real gift.

I wish it was your number one, it’s such a phenomenal business school.
