Hey I have been admitted to Informatics major with chancellor award. I want to know what are the chances of getting transfer into the CS major at UMass Amherst. That was my first choice so any help would be hlighly appreciable as I want to get into CS
Do you mind me asking what his stats are? I’m hoping to see if there’s a chance I could be admitted to their exploratory track and it would be very helpful to have something to compare to

No Honors College
Kind of disappointed with the no honors college. Its a big state school, and a challenging degree. The perks would have really helped. I’ve heard from 3 STEM majors with great stats, that were not chosen as part of the honors college… and are not going to attend.
Got into Isenberg with 3.5 gpa, 34 act, 5 AP’s, a few honors, lots of EC’s
Did not get into Honors college, but got chancellors award. Most likely will not attend

My son chose informatics as second choice as well and hasn’t gotten decision yet. We chose it as second because it’s in the same department as CS and should be easy to switch over. What is your SAT score if you don’t mind sharing?

Seems like most acceptances in Isenburg and Sociology and Behavioral schools. My first choice major is legal studies while my second is sports management, which are both in those schools. I still haven’t gotten a decision, is that assumed to mean deffered or rejected?
I don’t think that means deferred or rejection. From what i’ve heard it just means that they haven’t finished your decision yet, so it still could very well be an acceptance. Does anyone else think this is true?
I applied for COE with a first choice of biomedical engineering and a second of mechanical engineering. I haven’t received any email or updates yet, and today a few friends who also applied to COE got decisions. I’m not sure why ours hasn’t came out, but I’m sure it doesn’t mean rejection/deferral.
But just to test, if anyone has gotten a decision and applied for BME or ME, please share your results.

The legacy definitely helps and in fact I do play Ice Hockey lol- captain too.
Its not my number one, I got into Smeal at penn state and will go there.
The rigor of my school was very intense and Im sure UMass was aware.
I was accepted to the college of engineering, but no mention of major? Applied for chemical engineering. Think that means pre engineering, not that it’s a big deal but kinda stinks.

My son’s SAT score 1350 (700 math). At this point I’m wondering if he will get in at all, but he did get accepted to WPI. He’s top 10% of his class and very solid application.
