Has anyone else (or anyone’s DS or DD) gone through the process of requesting a change in major after acceptance? My DS was accepted to SBS, but is very interested in requesting a major change to Business Exploratory Track. He emailed admissions and didn’t hear back, so I called to follow up and still no response to these questions: If you request a major change and are denied, does it impact your original acceptance? If you receive the major change, does it impact merit offer? If anyone has gone through this and knows the answers, would love to hear experience.
My son is instate, accepted directly to CS. He had 35 ACT, 800 Math II SAT, 710 Chem SAT. He goes to a tiny charter school that only does narrative assessments (no grades/rankings/GPA) and doesn’t offer APs so can’t compare there. His narrative transcript is excellent though. Good ECs - inc. 4 yrs lead programmer (20+ hrs/week in season) on his highly successful FIRST team including lots of mentoring and volunteering at FIRST events, IT support at his school, volunteering at local kids science museum, math/sci TA at his school, couple other things. No idea what his recs are like.

I heard they tend to go harder on instate kids, but I am not sure
