Same with our daughter too. High GPA and SAT score. No honors college or any merit aids
My son did not get honors college or merit aid and we are in state. Beyond frustrating!
Is anyone still waiting to hear? Son’s portal is still not updated as of this morning.

Highly unusual for in-state students to receive “merit money.” UMASS typically offers this to out of state students, as a way of enticing them to attend (and use their $$ to subsidize everyone else).

MAandMEmom - Well, the in-state bio twin who was admitted didn’t get honors college or any merit aid (even though he got both at UDel EA).
Their older brother had very similar stats and didn’t get honors college at UMass either (psychology/ pre-med, ended up at Tulane with merit/ honor college). Maybe UMass just doesn’t like my family?

That’s my experience. “Merit” money goes to OOS students instead of high stats in-state. Honestly, to me “merit” is a misnomer in many cases - it’s really tuition discounting.

I think it is a trend. From what I know, UMass had released the three batches only on Tuesday around 3:00 pm this year.

UMass gives merit scholarships mostly to in-state students admitted to their Lowell, Dartmouth and Boston campuses. I have heard only couple of instances where in-state student receiving scholarship in the Amherst campus that too for non-Comp science major.
I called the admission office. They said that admission will be released until end of Jan for all EA applicants. They dont have a specific date

there has been a pattern of Tues releases at 3:00pm EST. my DD’s acceptance was last Tuesday at 3pm. Good luck!
