Sounds like waitlisted and rejections this release!
Congratulations! Accepted with a scholarship!! I was beginning to fear that everyone in this release was rejected or waitlisted.
Congratulations !!
Oh, come on UMass. My son was just waitlisted.
In-state CS major
SAT 1550, GPA UW 3.74, W 3.93, 5 on the AP CS exam
All-state French horn player.
I mean, he has other options - heās already been admitted in CS with merit aid to Case Western Reserve and Rose-Hulman - but Iām annoyed. Grrrrr.
When we went for a tour and info session this fall, they said they would not consider a second major choice for nursing majors. Either you were accepted into nursing or you werenāt
That shouldāve been disappointing.
Good luck! You kid will excel in other schools with such strong stats.
So sorry. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to their selections. Your son should have gotten in.
Same, for Psychology
surekhay and vss have pretty much same stats.
One was accepted and other waitlisted.
Maybe essays played a part

UMASS is notorious for waitlisting CS kids (especially in state) who they think are using it as a safety. Our class valedictorian from last year was waitlisted CS. Sheās at MIT.
Waitlist, In state, CS, SAT 1520, GPA 4.5Wļ¼in a high competitive stem school, kids with much lower score got in for the previous years. Anyone in the same boat?
could beā¦also we are OOS
Waitlisted Nursing
Waitlisted, Isenberg. 3.7UW/1440 OOS. Should be fine, we have other options.
Waitlisted for Nursing
Why is nobody deferred? UMass has no RD?
They changed a year or two ago and no longer defer to RD.
Thanks to this group for all the support. My daughter was waitlisted for biology after waiting so long. Bummed on decision. Do folks know how likely it is someone can get off the waitlist?
It has a higher chance than most schools due to the low yield rate but I wouldnāt count on it
