Oh the drinking game we could create waiting on the release of status. (only for parents and those over 21)
What time did stamps come out yesterday
First time poster.
- Why do people think sending out 30,000 emails will crash the system? Companies do email blasts all the time to 400,000 people. It not like these emails include huge attachments. If the logic is that it will drive people to Wolverine Access and cause it to crash, ok, but so what? I could buy the logic that Engineering might send all of their decisions, and Business then sends their decisions, but I don’t buy the logic that they can’t send 30,000 answers at once.
- I’ve been hovering on this board for three weeks. I hope we all get in, but I’m especially rooting for Bluto! Good luck John Blutarsky!!
Did anyone apply to the school of kinesiology?
The UC system releases decisions for 80,000+ applicants all at once. Doesn’t crash the system.
My friend got into stamps yesterday. Does lsa come out the day after stamps according to past years?
Guys honestly just stop speculating, it isn’t worth it. Personally, it’s only caused me more anxiety. Imagine being rejected after being so fully invested in the release date. Que sera, sera lets all just hope for the best
@mdclassof2017 This is exciting anxiety! lol
You guys really need to stop saying they’ll be released this Friday just because they usually start releasing them on Fridays. Historically, they release them on the last Friday before the school goes on break, which was the 16th. That pattern is already broken so there is no reason to believe that any other pattern will hold true. Furthermore, they usually START releasing them on Friday and then continue releasing them for the next 4-5 days that follow. If they STARTED releasing them on Friday the 23rd, they would also have to FINISH releasing all of them on that same day. As proven before, their system can’t even handle batch releases, how will they be able to handle all of them releasing on one day? Common sense people…
@Sparty82
“Why do people think sending out 30,000 emails will crash the system?” --> Because their system crashes every year even when they are released in batches spaced out over period of several days. Now if you release them all at once, it would only be worse… And the emails themselves aren’t the issue. It’s that the people will then all go to Wolverine Access to check their decisions. It’s WA that’s the problem, so idk why you’re saying companies send out mass email blasts all the time when the email being sent are not the issue.
Honestly theres nothing we can do at this point. We just need to wait and see what happens and try not to get too stressed over it. When they come they come, whether that is today, tomorrow, or friday. We can keep checking back here at 3 pm EST
Does MIch always release over the course of a couple days???
@jt1216 no umich did not break trend they don’t go on break until 23 this year their winter break is late
@ab2020 yes
As much as I want decisons to come out today its entirely possible for umich to release decisions over on 23-24. they just did it over a week in the past because their last friday before Christmas was early enough to spread them out. They can start releasing decision at 3 pm on Friday and release batches every 10 min until Saturday 11:59 pm it’s not ideal but it works
The website would still be very slow and likely crash. Think about it… spacing them out every ten minutes wouldn’t decrease any traffic on the website.
@Eeeee127 No they cannot release them every 10 mins over the course of 7 hours starting at 3pm on Friday unless their servers are 100 times better than last year. They released them every hour last year from Dec 18-23 and their systems were still down many, many times. People at my school got their emails at 3pm last year (don’t remember what day, but I know it wasn’t on the first day) and they were not able to login to the portal until nearly 6pm to see it.
As long as you get an email why would checking the portal even matter?
