UNC Chapel Hill 2024 Transfer Admissions Official Thread

Has anyone’s FAFSA been processed?

The decision dates for transfers, please give or take the time! Date and times are based on threads from previous years.

2018 - April 6th 3:00 PM
2019 - April 8th 4:00 PM
2020 - April 7th 3:55 PM
2021 - April 9th 2:30 PM
2022 - April 8th 4:00 PM
2023 - April 14th 3:10 PM

Up until 2023, the decisions were released around 5 business days before 4/15.

To add, the last three decisions came out the Friday before the 15th. So we’re probably looking at the 12th this year.

2 Friday’s before the 15th (2020), the Monday before (2019), the Tuesday before (2020), the Friday before (2021), the Friday before (2022), and the Friday before the 15th (2023)

I agree. The 12th. Also, with the FAFSA being processed so late this year, that might cause something of a delay.

Ya mines still not processed

I checked, and FAFSA showed that my kid’s was processed at the end of March, but I don’t know when a college would get that info or process it within the school.

Hi,
I am an instate sophomore applicant for transferring to UNC.
High school states W/UW: 4.2/3.6- 12th in my class but very small rural high school
Took all AP’s I could(very few provided at my small HS and couldn’t take one because I didn’t go the precalc route.
Dually Enrolled Junior and senior year- 1 B out of 8 classes, the rest A’s 3.875 gpa
Currently attend small private college in-state- first semester 4.0 gpa
Many ECs during high school but rejected last year(senior year)
Only in 1 club here - an honor society but I am still a community volunteer back home and I work at my old job when I am home also
Have 4 LOR, I think one from my prof here (who is also a dean) and the one from my boss will be pretty good( I didn’t read them)

I am a very anxious person and I am stressed. I don’t want to get my hopes up so I was wondering what y’all thought my chances are at getting in. Pls be honest, I want to be prepared.

@leghunc I am not an admissions counselor, but I feel pretty certain that you will be admitted. Don’t worry and don’t stress. All your grades are very good. You mentioned that you took all but one AP, but you did not mention your AP scores. That would be my only question, but, even if those scores weren’t great, I believe you will be admitted. Best of luck to you!

I got either A’s or B’s in the classes in high school and passed a few of them to get college credit. Thanks for your kind words! Wishing your student the best of luck!!

Hey everyone! I am an instate junior coming from App State! I have a 3.87 GPA and am majoring in Communications.
I currently work for my school’s athletic department, participate in a research study through UNC, and manage the social media/website for a boutique back home, among many other things.
In high school I participated in many extracurriculars (sports, DECA, volunteer work, etc.) and graduated as a member of NHS and NTHS.
I have 3 LOR from a professor I have had all 3 semesters (has met with the governor regarding his work with Holocaust survivors), my boss of several years, and the doctor of the study I was in.
If anyone has an idea of my chances I would love to hear! Good luck everyone:)

I heard someone talking about their withdrawal button disappearing. Can anyone else confirm? It feels too early for admissions to come out today but I suppose anything can happen.

I went and checked my application and everything seems the same, I believe that the checklist disappears…

If I remember correctly, the checklist will disappear around 20 min before or something
