@as13456 Congratulations! Thats Great news. Did u get any merit aid? What major did u get accepted into?

Are all the “You have an updated decision in MyCarolina” emails exactly the same?

Anyone heard anything about scholarships and honor college? The website says scholarships notification would come out a few days after admission. Do they only notify those who got it?

Has anyone heard about financial aid??

@pepphil7 I called and was told I’d hear about financial aid in a week.

I got my financial aid decision today but can not figure out how to see it on the connect carolina page. Any advice?

For the last two years Excel Carolina invitations all came out the following Tuesday after admission. Any news yet?

DS got into Computer Science long back (EA). We are from India and wanted to know how diverse the undergraduate student population is and if any others from India on this thread, please respond.

Have honors Carolina decisions come out yet? Have scholarship awards been giving out?

Hi there. My name is Vedant. I’ve been accepted to UNC chapel Hill. Any idea on Honors Carolina?

I called and they say it’s all out so we just did not get any.

@vgulla
Hi, I’m from India.
Got into CS (EA).

Has anyone gotten a physical acceptance letter yet?

Not yet

Hey everyone! Congrats to everyone who got in! You deserve it! : )

I got into Carolina EA but I can’t find that thread. I am waiting for my decision from NYU but chances are that I will be going to college either at Boston University or Chapel Hill. I’m a senior (duh) who is in the IB program.

I’m having a lot of trouble making the decision because there are a lot of factors, obviously. I live in NC so UNC is my state school. I was offered about $6000 dollars in aid for the 2020-2021 school year. It is literally an hour away from my house and I lived there for 5 weeks last summer for an academic camp thing, so I have a pretty good feel for the campus. It is honestly so beautiful and a lot of my classmates are going there.

For BU, I got a $58,000 grant that renews each year of the four years I spend there thanks to their BU Assurance Scholarship Program. Even though it’s not really a campus I love being in an urban city and I’ve always wanted to live in a big city up north.

Academically, I put Neuroscience as my major because I had planned to go to premed at the time, but to be honest I have no freaking clue about what I want to do. I have a knack for biology, I understand concepts fairly well and with minimal studying, I do pretty well on tests (knock on wood bruh can’t jinx myself haha). However, I’ve always had a spot in my heart for business, I won numerous state business competitions (through DECA) so presentations, sales, and marketing just come easily to be. Working as a marketing director or sales director sounds appealing. At the same time, my favorite class is Psychology, ever since middle school, I would always watch brain games whenever a new episode came on, and I love working around the human mind (hence why I chose Neuro). But thanks to Criminal Minds, criminal justice and law was something I looked into in High School because I did debate, but that interest has reemerged and I honestly want to pursue behavior analysis.

Needless to say, I’m kinda all over the place and I want to do so many things but like idk which college is the best. According to US News, Chapel Hill has a better ranking for all the majors I listed above but Boston is so amazing too.

I’m so sorry if I sounded braggy in any way and that this is SO long haha but if you can help me make this decision I will literally forever be grateful! : )

I’m literally so sorry this is long but please help a sis out haha : )

@teapotgirl13579 UNC being your state school (lucky you have such a prestigious one in your backyard), I am assuming it is still cheaper than Boston University? Honestly, both schools are great, UNC Chapel Hill is a bit better than BU. You want to spend as little as possible and still get a respectable degree for undergrad so you can save money for Med school or MBA. If Chapel Hill is cheaper, along with it being higher ranked than BU, same research opportunity, and just in case a FAR SUPERIOR Business School than BU I think it is a no brainer. I get that you want to maybe leave the area, but if a school like UNC is your state school which is already better than BU and you want to do pre-med (UNC equally if not stronger than BU) or business (UNC much better than BU) then UNC should really be your choice.

@fancypants2019 that makes a lot of sense! Boston Uni is about $3000 more per year even with the scholarships and that definitely adds up after 4 years. thank you so much for your insight, it helped me a lot!

I got in to UNC - Chapel Hill OOS! What does the carolina research program entail?

@hermionea congratulations! I heard OOS competition is tough!
