wondering if the recent snow days will have any impact on the release dayā¦
The school had condition 1 (reduced operations) until 10am today. So, normal routine should resume from today, and if results are set to release on Friday, I do not see any reason why not.

The University didnāt shut down, and I would hazard a guess decisions have already been finalized.
I thought about the snow also, but I would imagine the admissions officers can do a lot of their work remotely, as all the applications were digital. And yes, the decisions have probably been finalized if they plan to release this week. Fingers crossed!
Last year for OOS there were 2,921 acceptances out of 42,085 applications - Iām not sure why I am torturing myself holding out hope! And that includes athletesā¦Iāve tried to explain this to my DD - despite her excellent math skills she doesnāt seem to be able to fully process thisā¦

I know. Iām trying so hard to not get my hopes up. I went to UNC and my husband got his MBA there, and it is such a huge part of my life and so special to me. My parents met there, so many of my family members went there. Since we live in VA, my daughter didnāt feel as connected to the school and didnāt see herself wanting to go there until she toured, and she fell in love with it. I think she has as good a chance of any OOS student, but I know that chance is small for everyone. She has told me she will be crushed if she doesnāt get in, and I know that I will be too, as I would love for her to have her own experience at the place I hold so dear to my heart. Very similar story here - double legacy (engaged at Old Well!) tons of family in NC - alas, I keep telling myself they will make their own memories wherever they go ā¦

She had no interest in UVA! Really doesnāt want to stay in VA. Other than UNC she mainly applied to schools up North, except William & Mary to have one in state option.

Yeah, weāve focused hard on these numbers with my son. He knows how unlikely it is, but until he sees a negative response, heās holding out hope. Heās had such a crummy last few weeks with other stuff (mostly his sport) that I really donāt want to hit him with something else negative.
His safety school released decisions today (JMU) and he hasnāt logged in to see yet. Iām guessing heāll get in there, but that wonāt even come close to outweighing the negative that I expect is coming from Carolina.
The only positive of a rejection is that Carolina would probably be his most expensive option. So at least thereās thatā¦
And we were in the same boat @erfaulkner - the program S25 is interested in is appreciably stronger at UVA (an actual major with dedicated faculty) than at Carolina (a sub concentration of a different major), and weāre VA residents and yet no interest whatsoever at UVA.

They have closed all of it down I believe. There were a few things last years but very hit and miss.
