They do: @uncchapelhill
^ Yes, thatās UNCās (the University) Tik Tok but not UNC Admissions Tik Tok. UNC Admissions has its own Insta Twitter/X, Facebook & YouTube but not its own Tik Tok. And I do see a Tik Tok post on the UNC Tik Tok page where a āreplyā says the UNC entry means decisions are coming out tomorrow - but I donāt see an official announcement from the UNC Tik Tok page or on any UNC Admissions social media or on the UNC Admissions website saying Friday 1/24 is the day. So I think all we have is speculation and hope based on a reply to a Tik Tok entry, right?
NOTE: I hope itās tomorrow and maybe those reading the tea leaves know what they are talking about! Letās gooooooo!
Itās not rlly speculation. They post that TikTok every year the Friday before admission decisions come out.
There was a newsletter from a nonprofit group Coalition for Carolina that went out today that stated EA decisions would be released tomorrow. Some faculty and alumni are in that group.
Thank you for sharing this
Soā¦decisions are confirmed for tomorrow at 4 pm EST?
Its just I heard NC State and UNC release decisions on the same day and NC State announced their date as the 30th.
They likely will both be released an hour apart.
So UNC is coming out on the 30th and not the 24th?
My assumption is both tomorrow.
no it would come out tmrw
Athletes are a very small amount of those. They take many in state athletes and there arenāt that many athletes on teams. Maybe 1-3 freshman per team each year (other than football) from out of state. Probably less than 100 kids.
Announced it recently or that is what is on their site? Historically, both have a date by on their site, and they have both released the Friday before that date, at 4 pm and 5 pm (UNC and NC State).
They announced it on their instagram
Really? I am on uncchapelhill and uncadmissions and both didnāt post the EA decision date. Which account are you viewing from?
No nc state announced their decision date
State and UNC both announced their decision date and they never stick to it. Thatās the point. UNC announced 1/31 and now its clear that it is 1/24. State announced 1/30 but it seems like it also might be 1/24.
There are 872 athletes at UNC, according to most recent data linked below. I would estimate at least 225 - 250 each year are coming in, since some inevitably fall out. Besides football, 1-3 recruited athletes each year isnāt enough, especially in the ACC, for baseball, softball, track and field, lacrosse, soccer, or swimming to field strong teams. I would expect somewhere between 50% and 75% of athletes come in EA.
Data here: Equity in Athletics
I said about 100 kids and the out of state athletes are probably about 1/3 of the 225 you mentioned coming in, so about 100 of the thousands of acceptances oos are athletes. A very small amount. Unlike a school like Duke who has far less in a class so far less acceptances.
For Duke ~800 ED acceptances, 100 are athletes, and 100 Questbridge( 1st gen/ low income primarily). Roughly 600 ED spots remain for maybe 6500 applications. Roughly 25% go toward athletes and Questbridge combo.
