Yes! 4 pm eastern time. Not long now!
If its coming from the Board it must be true! keeping fingers crossed
I can understand the anxiousness of many on this page. Last year my daughter waited on this day for both UNC and NCSU. UNC eventually said no, NCSU said yes and she is very happy there. But for those that may be worried about an acceptance when they donât have the numbers to match what you have been reading.
2 years ago my son applied regular decision to UNC. He was a long shot. C student in 9th grade, B in 10th, A in 11th, A with an honors class in 12th. 1260 SAT score which he submitted. His ECâs were okay - probably in the middle compared to others. He did have a somewhat unique story which I imagine that is what his essay was about (he wouldnât let us read it). He did not get waitlisted at all. Straight up acceptance on regular decision day in March. UNC saw something and âguessedâ right. He is thriving at UNC and that was something we didnât see happening.
As for our daughter that ended up at NCSU. She was a rockstar in high school - Almost all Aâs with most honors (an okay SAT score which she didnât submit), Worked at UNC and Duke for 3 years in high school, sang at Carnegie Hall, played sports, started 2 clubs. UNC waitlisted and then rejected her. She was deflated and depressed. She couldnât imagine being anywhere else but NCSU now. really found her spot.
So, you never know what may happen. I imagine UNC and schools similar donât want to just accept all the 5.0, dual enrollment, 1400+ SAT students. They want a mix. Granted my story is a small sample size. There is hope
The irony is that my sonâs top school was NC State and they rejected him
Thank you for this story. Kids rarely get in from our high school (oos). Our neighbor got in a few years ago with a unique story, test optional, great grades but nothing âcrazy.â You never know and yes they are building a class and ultimately you end up going where you are wanted and that is where you thrive.
Thank you for this. Still getting rejected
I think odds grow each year. More and more applicants even from those that are 90-100% they wonât be attending, but just add it to their brag list. Also grade inflation is a massive disadvantage for so many deserving, intelligent, and determined kids. The test optional doesnât help. Only causes admissions to focus more on gpa and rank. Iâve been told that even when you share your scores with these schools, they donât matter much. The balance has been shifted to the theory gpa is the best indicator of success. Thatâs sooooo not true for everyone. Plus with the grading scale, a few late homeworkâs can keep you from all As. We as a society have a lot to fix. Including the fact that college tuitions have increased a bigillion percent in the last 10-20 years.
Glad that got deleted. Not cool. If thatâs the mentality of the kids getting accepted⊠idk. Rude and immature.
hopefully this matches up with NC state a hour later
They donât know if they got accepted. No one does.
What was the deleted post
Some kids said decisions were out.
I will remind posters that knowingly posting false information about admissions is prohibited by ToS, and that such posts will be deleted. Persons posting the false information will be suspended.
I canât remember from my other two sons, if there is a link to the decision letter in the portal (when it comes out). Does anyone know?
It is in a whole separate tab
What do you mean by that?
It appears right next to my application and financial aid as a new tab under âdecisionsâ
Hmm. His page says âyour decisions will be available hereâ, but there is no tab for âdecisions.â
It appears like some decisions have been posted
Yup, got mine
My OOS D25 was denied. Maybe those are coming out first.
